Got this crap going on over at the 1,2,3 modding forums too...Don't even think this will be on par with REmake on GC that capcom is dead and buried and in its place is a company that has become the real Umbrella. This remake will be a behind the shoulder action fest with Claire falling in Love with Leon and Ada being completely written out of the plot, Pre-rendered as far as they are concerned is a no money thing so it won't be static angles.

Also think of it this way Mikami directed the Remake of 1 and it sold well, Zero got released and it did worse...that sealed the pre-rendered games fate. Re4 again directed by Mikami sold like hot cakes and changed everything about RE that we know, RE5 was to me anyway a poor improvement and did nothing better than 4.

Not to Mention that Hideki Kamiya directed the game every fan knows and loves and guess what? Neither of them work at Capcom anymore so will it be a superior Remake? Nah because it hasn't got a dedicated team that worked on the older games it will be as some guys called it on the modding forums 'A Gears of War Clone with Resident Evil textures slapped on it.' I won't sign it the original is perfect the way it is, its like Total Recall was the remake good? was it hell, would another Remake of 1 without Mikami as Director be superior to REmake? No not in a million years....avoid anything this Capcom says to you like the plague unless you want to destroy thousands of fans childhoods...

If I look at that quote bubble much longer I'm going to get a seizure. Back on topic though, if they do indeed make a remake...would they create all new music? Redo the original music? Or keep the same music?

What do they mean if fan support is there, fans have been screaming for a remake of RE 2 for years. Yes i would support it but only if it's done right and not made into another action shooter.

Very good point about the music. I think they would have to bring back the original music. The soundtrack is part of what made RE 2 such a great game.

Sadly some or all of that will probably be true. As much as I want the old play style back if it is similar to re4 I wouldn't mind as I thought re4 was done rather well and even with the new play style it kept the survival horror. Sadly though with capcom saying survival horror is dead and re needs to be more action based I see some changes coming to the remake. I still believe the game could be scary even with an over the shoulder view since it worked for 4 and it works in dead space. I think as capcom keeps it survival horror and not full on action for all their ADD 10 year olds and COD/Gears players it might turn out fine.

This IS actually a problem. There is a big diffrence in making something that you care about and making something "just for the money", changing the game to whatever sells.
Im worried that once people will get tired of the "shooter-action" genre Resident Evil is in a lot of danger...
What will they turn the games into then? Back to it´s roots?, racing game? How about a RTS or a cooking game or maybe a platformer??

Capcom had a vison when they made RE4, they didn´t follow any fan request or tried to sell as many copies as possible and how did that game turn out?

That is bullshit. First, Capcom put their heart and soul into Resident Evil 6, you can't deny the work they've put into the title. I play Resident Evil 5 every now and then, you just can't announce that RE6 doesn't have replay value.

Resident Evil still holds loosely onto its identity, and you can plainly see it displayed in both Leon's and Chris's campaign. You can see it in Revelations and in Lost in Nightmares. Even if Resident Evil were to turn into a cooking romance racer game why would you hold it against Resident Evil if its a good game? You're doing the same with Resident Evil 6.

Profit is good for Capcom, they get profit, they make more games, they make fans happy. Not only Resident Evil games, other new IPs that could draw in more buyers. Profit gives Capcom incentive to create bigger and better. I feel like a total boss when I play RE6, I feel like I'm experincing an epic event at global proportions. It had its flaws, but what game doesn't?
