Whatever, this trailer made my nipples so hard. Ada looks bad ass. I think people expect way too much. How many "good" movies are there, based on video games?

Yes, you are right. How dare we expect films to be good? Especially films that are already built for the director in the form of a game franchise. How can we possibly sleep at night knowing that we expect a good film for the money we pay? What utter bollocks is this?

Something else I'd like to point out; when the HELL is this suppose to take place?! Ada is dressed from RE4 while Jill and Wesker are dressed from RE5. What the crap? I understand Wesker had Jill for awhile but I don't think he officially woke her up until he made his move for Africa. They can't even get a timeline straight with these things. What a rip... Another thing how they made the world look in Afterlife and this one is how it's supposedly going to turn out in RE6. Am I right?

The funny thing is that Romero was actually the first director for the original movie, but they fired him because he was 'too controlling'. Still, he went so far to complete a script for it, which you can find on the internet if you just goggle "Resident Evil George Romero script'. It's an interesting read

I've read his script, and I find it more entertaining that the movies. Well, the movies are good enough.

I don't know why, but I always laugh when I see the live action film trailers. It looks so weird for resident evil (or any franchise that doesn't start as live action).

Not to mention that Alice has to remind us every single time what her name is.

He is the reason they turned to Anderson and Gems instead. His script was just bad. I rather see Guillermo del Toro do them than Romero.

Hate is a strong word. I don't HATE the movies, because its something that's not real. To devote part of yourself to completely hating something that doesn't exist is kinda silly.

I dislike them. I think that the storyline is stupid when it should have followed the games a little more closely. After the first movie, they made Alice so over-powered that its not even funny. That being said, I have nothing against the first movie. It wasn't great, but it was ok. Still, after that, things went downhill quick.

Another thing I don't like is how they changed all of the character's backgrounds from that of what appeared in the games. Like the S.T.A.R.S. teams from RE1/REmake really not existing, and Jill being the only familar character from that (Excepting Chris from Afterlife).

Well did u know that before the first resident evil game was released they made Alice and she was the main character. But the scraped that idea want made what games we know and love but Alice was the original idea for the game. That's where movie developers got her from. And I do agree with the power thing but she barly used them and saying that, would be like saying wesker was to strong.

Well, the point I was trying to make with Alice is that they made her into basically a character that said "I'MA GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", and that all the other characters were basically helpless without her.

Example: Nemesis in "Apocalypse". You're telling me Jill wouldn't be able to take Nemesis down? Alice has to do? Yeah. *Disappointed face*

Very true I'm not saying the movies aren't like that but there good otherwise. You know how the books are always better than the movie made from them that's the same here it sucks but it's all we got at least Alice doesn't have powers now cuz in afterlife wesker took them so maybe the next movie will be good on that and maybe it will show that everyone else is not helpless and speaking of nemesis in afterlife Claire was fighting the executioner and Alice saved her it was cool but Claire could of done it.

I've mentioned this somewhere else on the forum but I'll just rewrite my thoughts. I watched the first two movies and hated them, they focused on some Mary Sue original character that I didn't give two shits about. Anything resembling Resident Evil has initially been altered, or thrown out the window all together. Made me wonder why they thought it was called Resident Evil to begin with. Each progressing film was a farther and farther departure from the source material, it doesn't bode well with hardcore fans. Not to say there aren't hardcore fans that love both franchises, but generally speaking, fans of the games first aren't fans of the movies. 

I would like to think that the Resident Evil movies are like the 90's Batman movies, they're so bad but there's enough people who like them that they keep releasing them. 

The initial hate for the movies derive from the distant departure from the series' title. I stopped watching the movies right when Alice started using psychic powers. I think that's where Luis is actually nodding off to the movies in Resident Evil 4. 

The thing with the movies is that in their own right, they shouldn't be called Resident Evil. The only game that Paul W. S. Anderson ever played was 5 and you can tell since he exclaims that it's his favorite game in the franchise. I'll be honest, 5 was a major disappointment. It was fun, but it was no true Resident Evil title. 

I think of all my problems with the movie, Alice is my biggest problem. She's constantly downplaying and overshadowing  series title characters, (as if that's what fans of the series wants to see.. Some Mary Sue show them up on the silver screen) she steals scenes from cutscenes in the games that belong to other characters and uses them in the movies, (Claire from CVX) and she has fistfights with tyrants and Nemesis. What was going on in her mind that told her, "Nemesis? I'll run up and punch it to death!" Nemesis was supposed to haunt your nightmares and pop out at any second. Nemesis was the thing you feared most when playing Resident Evil 3. What was in the movie was so ridiculous, I was embarrassed to be caught watching the movie, as if someone had walked in on me while I was watching porn. 

What is a Mary Sue? The perfect definition would be Alice herself, but a real definition would have to be: A Fan-fiction character who exhibits many clichés {i.e. tragic past or amnesia} over idealizing and lacking of any flaws, continues to upstage characters, especially those canon to the story; dominates the spotlight, exhibits unrealistic traits or skills beyond what is expected in that particular series. 

All in all, they're not just bad Resident Evil movies. They're bad movies in general.
