For me, Here are some of the most disturbing monsters of RE. You know the feeling that whenever you play RE you might afraid that this Creatures will haunt you out of nowhere, and mostly the time when your health is in danger and they suddenly appear infront of you like a ghosts of horror movies and you don't know what do like your run out of ammos and you don't have a choice but to run fast so they won't get you. This monters has a big influenced on us, RE fans. They are the one's who gave thrills on the Game. Without them I guess RE won't be successful. So thanks to this Monters. Hope you Enjoy reading this:
10. Crows This might come as a bit of a
head scratcher, which I
understand. Theyre just
infected crows, right? They
might be pretty harmless in
the games, but they are known to be ominous and
foreboding in movies and
such. The fact that a group of
crows is called a murder fits
pretty well with their role in
most of the Resident Evil games. For one thing, theyre
responsible for the ultimate
death of a S.T.A.R.S. member
(Forest Speyer of the Bravo
Team). Only two other
creatures on this list can also make that claim. In addition,
theyre also responsible for a
pretty memorable jump scare
in RE2 (busting through
several glass windows in a
winding corridor). CVX and RE5 have been the only games
not to feature crows, with
the former replacing them
with bats and the latter
simply having other (normal)
birds flying around in the sky. They may not have been
infected in RE4, but they were
still there.
And while this might make
me a bit biased, theres a
story Ive heard a couple of times from a friend about her
bad luck with these birds. She
was playing RE3 and her
health was on danger. Before
she had the chance to get
inside a building, a crow pecked her a single time and
she then saw the You are
dead screen. Thats just
funny.
9. Spiders These are the only monsters
on the list that are simply a
(much) bigger version of its
real life counterpart. The
reason they made it on here is
because they are a classic enemy of the series and can
certainly instill fear into a
person afraid of them. They
can grab on to you with
multiple legs, sprint at you
while on a ceiling or wall, and in some cases, swipe at you
while on the ceiling and knock
you down. Coming from
someone with arachnophobia,
seeing one speedily crawl at
you with its front legs up in the air or attack you from
above with a couple skinny,
hairless legsits a bit
shudder-inducing. Not to
mention, they can also spit
poison at you. Theres a particular corridor in CVX in
which youll more than likely
get trapped between two
spiders (one behind you and
one in front of you), and
because of the narrowness of the hall, theres basically no
way to move around one of
them. This makes it easy for
them to just keep grabbing on
to you until you die, kill one,
or get lucky enough to slide around one. Overall, spiders
are definitely one of the classic
RE enemies.
8. Cerberuses While not the most beloved
enemies, the decaying,
snarling zombie dogs have
certainly made an impact in
the games. These are the first
monstrous things introduced in the series, and they make
one hell of an entrance:
tearing at your downed
teammate with sharp teeth
and a thirst for blood, as soon
as they begin getting shot at, the chase is on. Theyre also
known for being quite
annoying at times, especially
since theyre usually in a
group of two or three. While
youre attempting to take out one, the other(s) will
pounce on you or take a bite
out of you. At the same time,
its an enemy that can be
quite familiar to people due to
being a common household pet, but infected with the T-
Virus. This is compounded by
the yelping noises they make
while being shot down. They
have made an appearance in
nearly every RE game, and even though theyre not in
RE4 or RE5, those games made
an attempt to recreate the
Cerberuses in different ways.
Perhaps what the dogs are
most remembered for is the very first jump scare of the
series in what has become
known as the dog corridor.
7. Bandersnatchers. Time for the controversial
pick. Im very well aware of
the fact that many fans hate
these, and most complaints
Ive seen have been because
theyre annoyed by them. Personally, I think theyre
pretty creative, and if you
allow yourself to get hit
often, any enemy can be
irritating. They may only
have one arm, but its a good one. Their skullish face gives
them a creepy touch
reminiscent of death, and
although theyre slow, they
dont need to be anything
else. Their arm drags on the floor as they lumber around,
until they decide to
attackand then it elongates
quite a distance to either
smack at you, or take you in
its grasp. If youre low on health, theres a possibility of
the hand literally crushing
your skull. They can also
simply swing theyre arm
and hit you when youre
close, but other than that, theyre not difficult to dodge
unless you have to take one
out while another is around.
Overall, the concept of them is
one of the better ones in the
series as far as regular enemies go, and Darkside Chronicles
looks like it ups the
creepiness/coolness factor of
the bandersnatchs
appearance.
6. Novistadors. Able to fly and turn
themselves invisible (some, at
least), these could probably
pass for being on here just by
the sole fact that they can
cause one of the coolest deaths in the seriesthe acid
death. If your health is low
enough and they spit acid
onto you, Leons face will
melt off to the point where
you can see his skull beneath. Thats just badass. In the
sewers, they mostly attack
one at a time, but can leave
you wondering where the
hell they are because of their
invisibility. You can always hear them coming, but you
cant always see them. In the
underground area later in RE4,
they dont cloak themselves,
but they do attack in swarms.
They can jump on you from the air, or claw at you from
the ground, as well as spit acid
onto you. If you get
surrounded by these things,
chances are, youre screwed.
The other good thing about them is that at one point,
theyre responsible for you
being separated from
Ashleyand who would
complain about that?
5. Chimeras Take a look at the picture and
try to say that these
bioweapons arent creepy, in
appearance if nothing else.
Im pretty sure I could leave
it at that, but Ill expand on it anyway. Theyre fast and
aggressive, and can climb on
ceilings and attack from
above. They mostly attack in
groups of up to about four,
which means if you get surrounded, the easiest way
out is probably by dying.
They clearly inspired the idea
behind Reapers in RE5. Theres
something about Chimeras
that is simply sinister. Id say its most likely their
appearance coupled with their
quick movements and
climbing abilities. Along with
the rest of the above, I think
theyll always be remembered for being in the
famous lab under the Spencer
estate
.
4. Regenerators/Iron Maidens I have one complaint about
these guys: there werent
enough of them! In a game
more focused on action and
less on horror, Regenerators
and Iron Maidens certainly stood out. The music that
plays around them, along
with their breathing, makes
for a nice amount of eeriness.
It doesnt hurt that they can
latch onto your neck and bite the hell out of you. Or that
they, as the name implies,
keep regenerating unless you
take out the parasites or do
enough damage to them. You
can literally blow a hole in them, or maim them, and
they dont give up the fight.
In fact, even if you take out
their legs, they can leap up
and attack you. Ever get a
close up shot of their face? Thats not something youd
want to encounter in a dark
hallway, especially when
some will suddenly sprout
spikes. Part of their charm
could be attributed to having two aspects in common with
zombies: their slow walking,
and the fact that they
sometimes bite you. Overall,
theyre just cool, welcomed
enemies for the RE series.
3. Lickers These accidental B.O.W.s
(created by zombies receiving
a second dose of the T-Virus)
are introduced in a classic
horror type of way, and leave
quite the first impression. You may not know what it is
when it crawls across the
window right by you, but
you find out in the next
hallway with a pool of blood
and a decapitated corpse. Their breathing is immediately
distinguishable, as well as the
tick of their claws on the
floor, walls, or ceilings, and
they can do plenty of damage.
While theyre associated with RE2 more than anything, they
make a reappearance in RE5,
and are upgraded. They take
more damage, can impale you
with their tongues (instead of
just flicking you with it like in RE2), and can tackle you and
send a clawed arm right
through your chest. On the
flipside, you can knock them
on their back and stab them
through the heart. While theyre not the fastest
enemy in the series, they are
aggressive, especially in a
horde, which is how they
come in RE5. They may not be
able to see or smell you, but they can hear you and hone in
on your position easily.
Lickers (quite the appropriate
name) have been held in high
regard since their first
featured appearance in RE2, and its clear why. Along
with Cerberuses, Lickers also
have one of the most
memorable jump scares in the
seriesthe interrogation room.
2. HuntersThese green reptilian-esque
creatures are vicious. From
their high-pitched shrieking,
to their bulky frame and long
arms that end in fierce claws,
to the fact that at times they can send you to the You Are
Dead screen with a single
attack. They can hit from both
near and far, so youre never
completely safe. Dont have a
weapon powerful enough to take one out? Well, just run
then, of course! Run, and hope
you dont get in the path of
its deadly claws, or that it
leaps multiple yards to give
you a lasting farewell. If theres more than one in the
near vicinity, good luck. Their
introduction into the series
was perfect for the type of
creature they areit has you
on edge wondering what the hell is able to move that fast,
and its coming right for you.
Theyve been slightly
different in appearance in the
games theyve been in, and
have had different nameslike the Gamma Hunters in RE3. A
new type of Hunter was
created for Code Veronica X:
the Sweeper. Its the same as
a normal one except that it
carries a poison in it that may affect you when attacked.
Hunters are a welcome
addition to any RE game.
1. Zombies To anyone even remotely
familiar with the series, this
shouldnt come as a surprise.
While technically not the first
enemy seen in the original
Resident Evil, the initial appearance of it is quite
memorable: moaning and
slowly turning to face you
after devouring a teammate,
blood encrusted on its mouth.
Theyve populated five of the main games and all of the side
games, along with the
canonical CGI movie,
Degeneration. Even though
theyre usually slow and
theyre brain dead, they dont react to pain and thus
can be a worthy enemy. If
theres just one, its possible
to dodge, but put them in a
group in a relatively tight area
or corridor, and you better be ready to shoot a bunch of
rounds off before they get to
you. They have an
unquenchable hunger for
human flesh and the only
thing that will stop them from attempting to bite into
your neck is putting enough
bullets in them to drop them
for good. These rotting,
shambling creatures became a
staple of the franchise right at that moment, and no matter
where the series goes,
zombies will always be
associated with it.
