Favourite boss, probably Birkin 4th Form in RE2. That one was the most difficult, and one that has actually killed me...If you let your guard down, you're dead. |

Favourite boss, probably Birkin 4th Form in RE2. That one was the most difficult, and one that has actually killed me...If you let your guard down, you're dead. I can make those bone cracking noises too when pushing out my wings I agree with Birkin, havent played RE 2 4 a long time, but i remember very well. The major reason why i didnt like OP RAc City was what they did with Birkin, he was not difficult at all. Sounds like you're ready to defeat Chuck Norris. Birkin was cool in RE2, and he was cool in RE0. UC and DSC, as well as ORC, did a horrible job with him. For some reason Capcom decided to make Birkin sound like a prepubescent boy was the right direction to take his character in. As for his mutations, they were all actually pretty cool. Definately enjoyed seeing him in DSC, but still, he deserves a little more. I guess getting the occasional mention by name is the best we'll get. He was actually a pretty important character, but overlooked. Most don't know that he was a factor in the creation of the T-virus, taking Marcus' research after his death, as well as being the creator of the G-virus. In addition to just being a duo with Wesker, which is something that makes the Jake/Sherry team so cool to play as. |

| I wasn't a huge fan of El Gigante, either. Bear in mind, Resident Evil 4 was the only game I'd played at the time. I'd barely gotten to grips with the style of play and BAM! There's a giant troll trying to tear my face open. |

| Especially since RER, Hunters have been done to death and lost all their badass appeal, in my opinion.
Regarding non-generic bosses I think I'd go for... hm... difficult choice, I'm torn between Alexia, the Verdugo, and Salazar. I think I'd settle with Alexia, she has the most background story around her.
With respect to generic enemies, Crimson Heads are the ones for me. They are the new hunters. |

That wasn't the 'Right Hand Man' was it? |

| Yep, Salazar's right hand. It comes off. Possibly one of the toughest boss fights in the game next to It. Verdugo actually means Executioner. |

Not really - you can end that battle for less than 2 minutes with one nitrogen canister and a rocket launcher.Pretty simple. |

Yeah, but who on their first run thinks, "I'd better spend 30K on this rocket launcher for the upcoming Verdugo boss fight, since I can dispatch him quickly with the Nitrogen tanks instead of losing tons of health and ammo and barely surviving this encounter?!?" I didn't. It's a perfect example of survival in RE4. |

I didn't. It's a perfect example of survival in RE4. Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Did you know you can also kill him rather quickly with the Chicago Typewriter and the PLR? Obviously, I'm talking about the first time you faced him, the build up was great, and he was pretty freakin' hardcore if you ask me. My first run I ran out of every single bullet I had and was only saved by the hair of my skin. After that I had to face villagers, chainsaws, giants, and Novistadors. That alone makes him a worthy mention. |

Then I suppose I'm the only one who used a rocket launcher on their first battle.Since the second fight with El Gigante I always carried a rocket launcher with me,for further bosses.Of course it took me awhile to freeze Verdugo. If missed him with the rocket launcher or the canister,I just restarted the game from my last checkpoint(save if we have to be correct).I never tried other weapons on him - what's the point of wasting ammo when there is always an easier way. |

Same here. I rarely have do-overs when I'm playing a game for first time. |

I didn't get RE4 until later when they released a Wii edition, and by then, this fight had been spoilt for me. Not mad or anything, can't expect people to tiptoe around spoilers years afterwards, but still. So, I found myself buying a rocket launcher, cause I couldn't bring myself to voluntarily go into a fight underprepared against my better knowledge. Well, I did to play a bit with him, though, and offered him some gratuitous health from me. |

I guess if you knew about the Verdugo fight, because of it being spoiled, by people without a consiounce, then I understand why you would snag a Rocket Launcher. Otherwise, it's like pressing down on a novelty shocking pen, when you know that it's going to shock you. - Mass Distraction wrote:

Actually, I found him fairly easy. It's just about timing it right and holding out. I've never actually 'defeated' him! |

I remember my first run, I had like no ammo, and no health by the time I ran onto the elevator. That F.Aid Spray in the room with the elevator was the only thing that kept me from being mince meat. |

Not only in the game, as Saddler doesn't really give Verdugo a run for it's money, but really in the series as a whole, it'd probably go in the top 10, which is a possible idea for a vid I could make... |

Which ones though? I mean, as far as Hunters are concerned, you got 121-Alpha from RE1, the Beta and Gamma Hunters from RE3 and the Outbreaks. The poisonous and controlled ones form CVX. Not to mention the annoying yet less deadly ones from ORC and RER. As for Lickers, you got the RE2/Survivor variety, then the Gecko-looking Lickers from Outbreak, and the RE5 Progenitor Lickers that are a bit thicker. |
