| They discuss Spencer and Ashford working with the Ebola virus in the 1950's when it wasn't discovered(or had an outbreak) until 1976. Is this a mistake or is there a back story to it? |

| You know, i just looked at that, and you're right.
The ebola virus wasn't discovered until 1976 by the CDC, but most Resident Evil sources say that Spencer and Ashford were studying it for quite a while before they discovered the Progenitor virus, which was disovered by Spencer in 1966.
I never thought of that before, impressive. ^_^ |

Well it never says that Spencer and Ashford, or Marcus for that matter, had messed with the Ebola virus. In the Wesker's Report II, which is convienently on this site, it says that they had been experimenting with the "Ebora" virus, not Ebola, which could very well be a typo, or maybe Capcom is using a fictional version of the actual virus. Anyway, using RE Wiki isn't exactly the most credible way to get info. Furthermore, I believe the Progenitor virus was discovered in the 60's, pretty much right around the time of Umbrella's establishment, 1968, which coincided with Edward Ashford's death... |
