I think this is the issue people have with Leon, that he's constantly forced down their throats as the hero to end all heroes. He could be considered the John Cena of Resident Evil.

Chris does seem more of a veteran than Leon. He was in the Air Force before RE1(I believe that was the branch) and he is definitely more of a heroic icon inside the Resident Evil universe. Everyone in the BSAA looks up to him. All this aside, Leon really seems more effective at everything he does compared to Chris.

It's not that he seems more of a veteran. He is more of a veteran. By the time Leon was a rookie cop Chris had already went to the airforce, got kicked out, and became a pointman for an ex-military outfit.

Indeed, I agree 100%. His career was well underway before Leon's even began.

Well throwing back to your prior post, Chris was a key in forming the BSAA. I don't think Leon could stand out to Chris, despite his emotional plot driven antics in Resident Evil 6.

Chris is definitely the veteran and definitely the higher respected of the two. Leon just has more success in his missions. Chris always makes it out alive, but he same can not be said for those who work with him. In RE 1, 5 and 6 Chris loses most if not all of his team. Leon tends to make it out with a higher rate of survival when on his missions.

If put in the same circumstances, I don't have a doubt that Jill wouldn't hesitate to shove a gun in Claire's face, partner's sister or not, if she perceived her as a threat.

I would pick Claire or Carlos Olivera to come back in Resident Evil 7.

Claire because she hasn't appeared in any major Resident Evil game since Code Veronica and Carlos because he only appeared in Nemesis and I kinda wanna see what happens to him.

He definitely is my overall favorite character in the series. I don't really think of him as a comic relief, though.

I would definitely want to see Carlos again. I liked all those UBCS, especially Mikhail. When we are already mentioning them and RE3, what is the canon ending with Nicolai? Did he die or not? I was sure somebody mentioned that he left, but when I looked at RE wiki it said that it is not known which ending is actually canon.

Ok so the Ada Chris and Piers were after was a clone of Ada. At this point she caused the outbreak in Edonia, infected Jake's ,mercenary unit, killed the majority of Chris' team in Edonia by infecting them, and now in China she caused Marco's death and the outbreak in Wayip China. Chris and Piers are finally closing in on Carla Ada. Right when it looks like Chris is about to shoot her, Leon comes out of nowhere and disarms Chris. They get into hand-to-hand combat . Chris and Leon are matched so they point guns at each other. Leon then tells Chris that "She's a key witness. We need her." Chris outright states that he lost all of his men because of her. Then Leon says that he lost over 70,000 people (referring to Tall Oaks population) including the president because of Simmons. Basically if Leon didn't interfere, Chris might have been able kill or bring Carla Ada into custody. But Leon's stupid affection for her clouded his better judgement that she was a bio-terrorist and they need to be dealt with. She then escapes. Causing more trouble for Chris, Piers, and the real Ada.

Correction. Carla was not a clone, she had her face rebuilt to look like Ada.

It's funny how they killed like, 12k people (talk about ridiculous) before actually finding out that Carla has the DNA to look like Ada or some bullshit like that when they could have just did a plastic surgery to any of the chicks before her. If people can change gender and voice, it wouldn't be too hard, especially with the researchers that Simmons could have. So they just needed to do it with a C-virus for some ridiculous reason. I just cannot exclaim loud enough how stupid the whole plot of 6 was.

At least I'm not the only person who thinks Resident Evil 6's plot was completely dumb.

According to Archives Nicholai took the last chopper. He presumably escaped as it has no mention of Jill shooting him down. Furthermore, I hear there's a file dated after the events of RE3 in an official guidebook for Code: Veronica, signed by Nicholai.

Yes. That's what I knew also, he took the last chopper but it never mention that Jill shoot the helicopter down. I guess Nicholai fake his death again. We might never know.

What do you mean "fake his death"? You can also choose not to shoot down the chopper in which case Nicholai just flies away well before the city is destroyed.

A timeline in Resident Evil 5 confirmed that Nikolai took the last helicopter (which in turn also confirms that Jill did indeed jump off the bridge) but did not confirm whether Jill shot down the helicopter or tried to reason with Nikolai.

Very interesting. If this is true that he is indeed alive he would be a great candidate for antagonist in a future installment. He could try to extract revenge on Jill. Very simple plot setup I believe they could do a lot with. He has the whole crazy psychopath who actually knows what he is doing persona working for him.

I personally feel that its time for Barry to come out of retirement from eating Jill sandwiches on his ranch in Canada and make a comeback in Resident Evil 7.  Maybe not as a major player but a supporting character to Clair Redfield perhaps?  Surprised we did not see Barry in Resident Evil 5 (mercenary reunion mode does not count) given that Wesker threatened his family and all.  You could say that its a bad idea but you know it never hurts to take a risk on Capcom's part and I understand as well that Barry is a bit of a parody character that no one takes seriously:) 

Resident Evil 7 could introduce us to an older more wiser Barry.

Also the fact that it is never mentioned whether Jill shot him down or not despite all the mentions of him taking the last chopper heavily indicate that he indeed took it and flew away.

Indeed it would. I could see Barry in some sort of intellegence or managerial role for the BSAA. I am sure if he was we would have heard something about it by now though. A cameo is long overdue. Even if it is just a picture of him with his family in game!
