REF gaming gathering

Hey guys, I was always amazed on how this forum never organized something like this on its early days, considering online play first appeared on RE5. I was thinking of having an event (that could be monthly, weekly, we'll see) for us users of REF could socialize while playing Resident Evil games online. It can also be a good opportunity to create a bonding between new users and old users.
For what I've seen we have a lot of users with both consoles that have online play on RE games for now, so I assume we could have events for both.

Is anyone else up for this? Please: if you are, say what console you have and what game/game mode you'd like to play.

Well, I was thinking of deciding the details once we get enough people who is up for this. But basically it would be like setting a date in which we can all log in and play some RE, that would be all

its not a bad ideia,but i dont know if it will take off

and there is problably at least a couple of people that only have the earlier games
of the series

I'm game, but the problem would be figuring out time zones and what games to play. Honestly, RE6 and RE:ORC are the only games that can really hold a larger number of players, and RE5's Versus mode is kind of shit.

I had better one on ones with Ravior than groups in the Resident Evil community in general.

That's mainly what I had the idea, to uncalm things here, 4 is kinda the top limit for players at the same time and honestly I think that's as much as we'll be able to gather here, so I don't think we would take turns. ORC has 4vs4 so maybe 8 is the real limit

Well, it owuld be fun to play a bad game with friends that also think the game's bad . We'll see if people comes to this thread wanting to play, if not, well let's forget about it

Eh, true. I'm on board if we can get more players on Xbox.

I only have a playstation (3&4), but I would love to play a game someday if I have time.

I play on the PC, and I'm up for Campaign/Raid/Mercenaries

I would love too, but for any multiplayer games I only play on PC :p

I am totally for REF events though. Love that idea!

online playing is really overrated
this days the developers of the games dont even put effort into the
solo aspect of the games they release and constantly put out dlcs
with a bunch of bullshit that should have been put in the game in the first place

you buy a 70 euros game only for the half of it,the other half being released later

My issue is that online play never really does anything groundbreaking, players are just running around shooting at each other in one form or another. Even in amazing games like Uncharted 2 and Red Dead Redemption, it's hardly any different from CoD. It's repetitive and gets boring quickly.

RE5 Mercs was the most fun I have ever had with Resident Evil Multiplayer. Not the vs mode, just regular 2 player mercs

Yeah, that is why it would be better to play them with people you actually know from somewhere else. Playing a 4 vs 4 on ORC is the same as in COD (in the fact that it is run, shoot, kill, be killed, respawn, repeat) but i suppose that if it is us forumers it can be a good opportunity to socialize.

That said, looks like it would be hard to actually organize something...so i don't know.

I had RE5, but traded it in some years ago.

If ORC is ever available with a low price on Steam, tell me. If it's low enough I can gift one to anyone who wants to play.

I have ORC on Steam, but for some reason none of the games that require Games For Windows Live will work for me :/. So far ORC and RE5 are the only Steam games as such and sadly I own both.

It's because Games for Windows Live exists no more. You have to download Games for Windows Marketplace and replace Live from your computer with it. I had to do that to play FlatOut Ultimate Carnage. It's stupid, yes, but it works.

The gameplay is what's repetitive and boring to me, so I don't see how playing with people you know is supposed to make it better.

Oh? I shall research it more, I haven't tried in quite some time to get them to work. I will have my hands full with REmake and Rev2 coming soon. Maybe come March I will try and get them to work! I do not care much for ORC, but I never got to play any of the DLC or multiplayer for that matter.
