| Hi, I'm new to this community. I'm studying sound in survival-horror games for a university project, and I'd really appreciate it if some of you guys could fill in an informal survey about it. It's all anonymous and shouldn't take long. Thanks very much in advance http://kwiksurveys.com/s.asp?sid=n1a8oveer62ys2j61545 |

I used Amnesia as an example too My other example was Silent Hill, though. |

| Awesome! Just finished it. Mainly what was going through my mind the whole time while answering the questions was Silent Hill 2. Especially how the sounds and music in that game can be disturbing and very unsettling at times. |

I used Amnesia as an example too My other example was Silent Hill, though. I've never actually played Amnesia before. I heard it was pretty scary, and it's main competition is Silent Hill. Based on what I've played before, I think SH2 is by far the scarist, most fucked up (Pyramid Head having fun with the mannequins) game I've ever played. Who says its main competition is Silent Hill? The games aren't really similar and being an indie game it really doesn't compete with anything. True, besides - in Amnesia you can't kill your enemies, but they can kill you with one hit(cough,Brute, cough) and they can outrun you easily. BTW Haunting ground bears a resemblance to RE3.Remember how Nemesis always appears in random places through the game?We have the same thing in HG,but more often. However, if you knock out your stalker,he won't stay "dead" like Nemesis - he'll just get up after half a minute and will become harder to avoid(and more brutal). You can steal an item from him, though. |

Good point, as you could pick items from Nemesis too after defeating him on an occasion. I wouldn't doubt if HG seems similar to an RE game anyway, they used a lot of ideas from RE4 Beta when developing it The whole game is like Clock Tower meets Resident Evil. |

Not just maybe, they did. Now, I'm not saying they used the whole concept but they used some elements. Which ones, we might never know. I do think that since the games are intertwined with each other they used the same model, propably referencing Hewie with that dog. |
