Resident Evil 6 - Jake? Ummm...who??

Ok my friends, now I'm sure everyone is aware of the character line-up of Resident Evil 6.
Leon with Helena, Chris with Piers, and Jake with Sherry.
My only problem, is that I'm not too familiar with where Jake came from all of a sudden.
So I want to use this post to see if anyone has any knowledge about Jake.
I don't wish to trust Wikipedia, because it is edited by anyone...so I want to hear what you guys know about him.
Rumours, information read on the internet or from game magazines....anything will be listened and read by me. I want to know more about why he is there and where he came from.
I've been reading that he is Wesker's son on the internet. Is he just a new character with no ties to anybody? Or is he really Wesker's son?

Jake is, indeed, Albert Wesker's son. Albert left Jake and his mother when Jake was still a kid. Since then Jake has joined a mercenary group to provide for his mother living in a war torn country of Edonia somewhere in Europe. He has the cure for the new virus in him so Sherry was sent to retrieve him by US government.

That's pretty much all info we have gotten on him thus far.

So Jake does have a main role in Resident Evil 6 after all? Great!
I just wondered if he was just another character Capcom stuck in just for the sake of it.
I mean...they did it with Steve Burnside from Code: Veronica...but they obviously killed him off before the end of the game.
Just makes you wonder if Jake and Albert Wesker will meet face to face at some point then?

As for Steve, Wesker did say it was possible for him to be revived. Maybe, maybe not.

We most likely will never see Albert and Jake seeing each other, mostly because of Albert's unfortunate passing in the volcano.

Although with Wesker's death in the volcano at the end of Resident Evil 5....I still have a feeling though that Capcom could somehow "resurrect" him.
And Steve may of been collected by Umbrella at the end of Code: Veronica...

So many possibilities in the world of Resident Evil.

I would definitely like to see Steve again. In fact, many of us thought Jake was Steve after seeing the first screens of the game. Some even went as far as to suggest that he might be the Ustanak.

Not sure if I'd like to see Wesker again, though. It's enough he got resurrected once. Do that too many times and it would become stale. I would, however, like to see Alex Wesker in a future game.

I understand what you mean...too much resurrection could damage the credibility of the series.
And Alex Wesker is due a visit to gamers I feel. It would add more to the story and fill in some gaps!

I'm also wondering if there will be any extra casting in Resident Evil 6?
Such as, a surprise cut scene of Jill...or....Ada meets up with Leon again??
I can't wait!!
