No. It's Piers Nivans, Chris' BSAA partner from a manga called Biohazard Marhawa Desire.

He is also going to be Chris' partner in RE6.

Why did capcom want too make him resemble chris redfield?

To be honest I can't see the semblance that well. Maybe they just wanted Chris to have someone he can see his younger self in or something.

I have a feeling that Sherry or/and Piers are sort of "next generation heroes" of RE. That is ofc if RE continues after 6th. Chris is already 40.. :[

Don't forget Jake

He does look like a younger version of him but I highly doubt they are related. I think Piers is sort of the heir-apparent to the series since RE6 is more than likely Chris's last game. Just my opinion.

Maybe in the RE universe PTSD doesn't exist. Maybe it's not something that occurs. Much like how the length of a day in the Power Rangers universe is different from ours. Who knows?

I wouldn't say it's necessarily Chris' last game. I would see RE6 story to be quite convenient for Capcom to bring out new young heroes - to inherit that anger and hate current protagonists have against Umbrella and other evil factors.
They are starring at least one former RE main installment and now when they are all brought together.. Who knows what happens. It sounds like a sign that something big is about to happen, something which will either end the serie or change it dramatically.

I just hope none of them dies in a freaking volcano. Please.

It was official promotional material released by Capcom so by default it is.

You can also tell by how Chris is acting, that he's showing a hint of post traumatic stress. The characters are human after all (even though they're fictional). So they can be vulnerable to stress and anxiety. Though I agree with Mass about them hiding it. Who knows, maybe Chris' mental barrier is starting to crack.

Also, I though I was the only who thought Piers looked like a young Chris a tad bit. Not going to lie, I could definitely start to see him as another one of my favorites.

I didn't see a young Chris in Piers at all. Just the same sort of hairstyle.

Bet he's going to crack in RE6 really big.

Somehow I doubt they'll discard them so quickly. They're very marketable characters.

Agreed. And also, I read somewhere that his team is suppose to be wiped out again during the events in China which brings out Chris's darkside. I guess that's why Piers is there so his captain's actions doesn't end up backfiring. When I look at Chris and Piers though; I see a "master" and "student" type of relationship. Maybe that's why Chris took such interest in him. Not only does he have a little bit of resemblance, but he's also an expert sharpshooter just like him. Out of all this information and hype for RE6; the one thing that I'm really looking forward to is the relationship between these two characters. E3, show me more dialogue from Chris and Piers please!! :3

If you really look you can see some tiny resemblances but yeah, mostly just their hair.

On the thought of a 'new generation of heroes' wouldn't that be a little cliche or expected? If Chris Redfield finally dies in RE6 I feel it'd be a defining point in the series if they choose to keep it going. But with all of this where the hell is his sister Claire and what would she do once he's gone?
