is it me or is resi 4 a huge game ...

resident evil 4 is a huge game , theres so many areas to work your way through especially the castle area , when you scroll onto the maps they dont look that big , but the story seems to take you round some of the areas you already visited , i think its the largest in the series so far

does wesker appear in resi 4 ?

A tiny bit. Just talking to Ada in either Separate Ways or Assignment Ada. Can't remember which one.

when I first played through the game I thought the same thing...the castle was just a massive part of it

And Star Wars Galaxies is...holy crap...big.

The GTA games are big enough for me. And Wesker is also playable in the mercs.

it is indeed a large game but as long as its not repetitive or boring then im glad im getting my moneys worth. the om;y area that felt repetitive was the castle.

Yeah its bigger than RE5. although if you count LIN and desperate i guess RE5 would be longer.

I don't think those would make RE5 long enough, since you then would have to take into account Seperate Ways and Assignment Ada which in turn make RE4 longer.

Assignment Ada was a minigame, not a story extension

If you combine LIN and Deserate Escape with the main game storyline in RE5 technicly would it be the same length as RE4?

U would think a game like RE5 that wraps up the original resident evil saga and the death of wesker would be a littler longer.

Its almost as if Capcom rushed RE5.

Sometimes the storyline of RE5 could be a bit incohearent and hard to follow at times

RE4's storyline was more simple and yes cheesy and stereotypical in many MANY ways but it still made it a more enjoyable and replayable gaming experience than RE5.

Jamesy, you're right about Resident Evil 5. I don't think that they rushed the development process but I'm pretty sure they planned to cram every single bit of fantasy and action into the title just to increase the length of the game. Ultimately the story spiralled out of control and resembled a plot similar to The Never Ending Story. It's obvious that the developers ran out of ideas and it's a shame that Resident Evil 5 is the worst of the decaying series, in my own opinion of course. And as for Resident Evil 4 to me it didn't feel as long as the games before it, but as numbers show I spent allot more time trying to complete it over others in the series, apart from Resident Evil 5 (yeah, it doesn't deserve the Resident Evil name).

Whoa, you're a negative one... I love the games just for the story.

I only speak my mind when I'm passionate about something my friend, and that's exactly my point. The story has strayed too far from its origins and has since indulged itself into a different genre. But obviously that's just my opinion.

I don't care what direction the story takes, I'm happy with whatever they make up. As long as it's not Alice.
If I want to play a RE game that has the original style I just play one of the older games. It's a good reason to pick up the old games and relive the horror. It's also good to reminisce the story and read the files all over again. To me the storyline changes were just natural selection, since new gamers are more interested in action. I still enjoyed the newer games as a full Resident Evil experience and also loved the mini chapters in both games, though LIN and DE should've been accessible in the beginning.
