Just saw an article on this. This is great. Maybe some bonus features and stuff as well?

Got this e-mail this morning:

Great job spreading the virus out there! Thanks to all of you, Raccoon City is 100% zombified! This means Chris and Jill's BSAA costumes are going into the game for everyone to enjoy!
Resident Evil (new costumes included) is coming early 2015 to all supported platforms.

^Man, I missed the days when RE felt like a horror novel instead of a summer blockbuster. Anyway, I might get flamed for this but I always hated Jill's RE1 costume. I never understood why she never wore a STARS vest like everyone else. I'm guessing it was because Capcom wanted to show off her boobs.

There may be some truth to that, since there's a strap and buckle right underneath her bosom to accentuate her chest. Although hell, if I designed Jill Valentine, I'd be proud to show off her boobs too.

So... Why is the REHD costume trailer in the Revelations 2 thread again?

What costumes would you have selected?

Some cool insight on the remastering process:
We now have CG in the backgrounds!

Thanks for the link 37 Narwhals. Ima buy that shit. Jill's BSAA outfit will be cool. I would've chosen Chris with his leather jacket, which was a costume in RE1 as well as Chris' RE3 epilogue.
If they release RE0 for 360 they better add some extras too. Its lame how the Wii editions were straight Ports. Minus them fixing the grenade launcher glitch in REmake, which actually isnt such a positive change.

Resident Evil HD Remastered will launch digitally in Europe and North America beginning on January 20, 2015 Capcom has confirmed.
I want a physical copy so I imported it, can't wait for it to get here.

Did you order the Japanese or the regular Asian copy? Because I hear the Asian copy has English as an option.

All the asian copies, Japan included, all multilanguage with text in ESP/ENG/FRA/GER/ITA/JAP and voices in english or japanese (at least for ps3) for what I've......secretely adquire.
IMPORTANT EDIT: all those languages could be just for the digital version, not retail.

I ordered the Asian version. It comes with English and Japanese. From what I understand it also comes with both an English manual and a Japanese manual. My copy is due for delivery on Friday, I'll come back to confirm this.

Please, do tell us if the files etc. are in English. I've been thinking about ordering that one too but I don't want to buy a full priced game that I couldn't beat without a walkthrough. Also being able to read the files would be nice.

Got my copy in the mail today!
Yes the files are in English in the Asia version with options for other languages. The only thing not in English is Wesker's Report.
I've been playing for a couple of hours now and overall so far I'm impressed with the HD upgrade. The game looks really good in most areas compared to the GC version. There are a couple of areas that to me don't look as good as others namely the Aqua Ring and the Kitchen, not saying these areas look bad, just not as good as the rest. Maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me.
I'm not crazy about the widescreen ratio, I don't like how the camera moves or the alternate modern controls, I guess I'm just an RE purist. My setup is as follows...
Original(tank)controls Type A controller Vibration-On Defensive Items-Manual Original 4:3 screen ratio
So that's pretty much all I'm going to say about the game, I'll leave other stuff for you guys to find out.
Oh yeah one other thing, when the game is loading there's some Japanese writing but don't worry just go into options and set voice language and display language to English and you're good to go. Again this is the Asia PS3 version.

To be fair, I never expected Wesker's Report to be in the digital version anyway so I'm totally going to order the special edition on this one. Besides, I already have all of the Reports available in the Archives II book so it's all good. Thank you for the update!
Does it install on the hard drive or is the game completely on the disc? The Revival Selection made me install both RE4 and CVX on the system despite the fact that you still need the disc to run the games. I'm not just talking about some necessary files, it installed the whole game.
If it does, tell me how big the installation file is. I don't have much room left on my PS3.

There's no install, just the normal load screens. I was worried about that also so I was glad to see that there was no install.

This is great news! I placed my order on the Collector's Package just now. If this goes well I might start using PlayAsia more for game imports.

I would rather have the disc version but i'm most likely just going to get the digital version for PS4. I really hope this sells well and Capcom is testing the waters to see if it's worth it to REmake 2! But man... between this and Revelations 2... good time to be a RE fan!

Oh geez, that cover art is so weird.. I know I said this about Lightning Count's copy, but still I guess it's Japanese cover art.
I guess they market the same thing to different people in different ways.

Resident Evil HD Remaster Supports Cross-Buy Only If You Pre-Order
As noted on the official Capcom Unity blog...
“Pre-order the game on PSN, and you're entitled to both the PS3 and PS4 versions. You also get an exclusive theme, and yep--they're pre-load supported so you can start playing as soon as the game is officially "out." Such a deal!”
