Why is this even up for debate? Jill would obviously win. Just because you like Claire more than Jill doesn't mean she's going to win.

When it comes to skills it's obvious that Jill would win.If you judge them as characters:
I vote for Jill, because :
1)she has proven to have a strong sense of justice("It's true that once the wheels of justice begin to turn, nothing can stop them. Nothing.");
2)she's loyal to her friends and partners(she even forgave Barry's betrayal);
3)she's a fighter(joined the BSAA to stop Umbrella at any cost);
4)Jill is emotional,but she can control her emotions for most of the time("Wesker... you're PATHETIC.","Don't you trust your partner?");
5)she never loses her willpower("We can do this Chris");
I dislike Claire though:
1)unrealistic design - she looks like an anime character o_O(besides redheads always have freckles - thanks to the sun and the fact that they have lighter complexions);
2)extremely girly voice actor(god,when she screams I want to shoot myself...I'll take Ashley anytime);
3)she's a protector,not a fighter(always babysitting someone - Sherry in RE2;Sherry after Code Veronica;that girl in Degeneration...Steve?);
4)she is supposed to be "cool",but on many occasions she just stands there and screams(like when Steve killed his father - did you see her drop her gun?No?That's because she didn't.And after the cutscene you have all of your weapons,so obviously she could have use her gun;when she met Wesker - she didn't even try to run away - she just stand there and screamed...and argued with Wesker on who knows Chris better XD);
5)she wears pink...I don't think I have to explain myself;
6)she has the type of personality that I'm not very fond of in games\movie\books - the kind\cute girl,who is supposed to be strong and independent and in the end is always saved by a male character - Leon,Steve,Chris(for example Jill and Ada were also saved by a male character,but they saved them in return later in the game).Even in Code Veronica,who was supposed to be HER game,the two main bosses - Alexia and Alfred were killed by Chris and Steve o_O
You're probably wondering why I have so many complaints about Claire.Well it's because I expected a lot from her in Code Veronica(my first game with Claire) and ended up extremely disappointed.

Jill would obviously win for numerous reasons. She had military training to fall back upon, plus her own instinct that served her well in the Mansion Incident and the Destruction of Raccoon City. I would also think that she had more experience with firearms than Claire does, even with Chris teaching Claire a thing or two

1)Claire doesn't have freckles,but on theory she should have - the majority (like 97%) of red haired people have freckles - they have lighter complexions, and because of that, the sun creates freckles.I just think it should be more realistic if she had too.

4)Ashley didn't look useful from the beginning,so I wasn't surprised.Claire however...I'm so disappointed that I can't even hide it.
5)In CVX it was red,but in Degeneration it's pink again XD(pink:2;red:1).

Considering the fact that Claire took on a tyrant, I don't think it really matters what color she's wearing.

Jill is my Resident Evil's Tomb Raider. She's a tactical goddess in hand to hand vs and freaking awesome in battle fight.
For Claire, she's a survivor and a savior. Instead of having good fighting skill thanks to Chris, she also has that big good luck thing with her just like Leon, so to me the battle will be a tie...

I always thought Jill would look good in a Lara Croft type of outfit. Thinking of her RE5 BSAA uniform, but having like khaki shorts and stuff, she'd really be ready to raid some tombs. It's a thought. Maybe for RE7...

Ok, Ok, I never intended for this thread to go haywire. It was honestly just a simple question. lol

I still think regardless of who got what training, that either of them 'depending on the circumstances' could win. Not only that, if Capcom really did decide to have them fight each other, the winner would be whoever they wanted, which could very well be either one or a flat out tie.

I don't think there's any competition to be honest.

I wouldn't mind seeing a chick fight between them.
