So Capcom just came out with two videos detailing the story in the main numbered parts of the series. They end up teasing a possible third history video with CV, RER, RER2, UC and DSC so like I said, only numbered titles are mentioned.
Of course, this is nothing we wouldn't know already but hey, it was a very nice recap. A couple of things that stood out to me though were the fact that they finally acknowledge the ridiculous amount of helicopter crashes in the series but more importantly, they finally gave us the real ending of RE3. Obviously Barry saving Jill and Carlos was already canon, thanks to the Archives books, but what about Nicholai? Well, apparently he did, indeed, survive. At the end of the RE3 portion they say "the helicopter they planned to use to escape is gone" and the cutscene shown is the one in which Nicholai flies away safely. Huh, maybe the diary of Nicholai from that Code: Veronica guide was canon after all.

That was a cool thing for Capcom to do. I know a lot of people that have recently gotten into the series who want to learn the backstory, but don't necessarily want to play through all of the older games. It was also pretty entertaining to see them "laughing at themselves" by showing that they acknowledge that the fans acknowledge that everything ends with an explosion and that helicopter's are never safe.

I actually liked him as a villain. I doubt Capcom will bring him back. He would be really old by now anyway.

Hey, if John Rambo can still easily slaughter millions of bad guys while in his 60s, Nicholai has no excuse.
