How many push ups can you do?

Alright, it's time to separate the men from the boys. Push ups are one the of the most effective ways to build both strength and endurance for the entire upper body(leg strength is highly underrated but that's another thread:) )Soldiers do them, professional fighters do them, REAL MEN do them!

Let's find out who's the alpha male of the bunch. How many can you knock out in one set?

I would also like to hear from some of our female members.

My current max is 70

How funny, last time I was hanging out with Chris, and I managed to do more push-ups than him. I win.

Lower body strenght overrated? No way! Gotta love those squats, they are actually like the most endorphine releasing or something.

When I was 16 my max was around 15-20. You're on the right track.

Huh, last time I did push-ups we were all drunk, but I did 50. 50 drunk push-ups. I kind of want to know how much I can do right now I'm sober.

I don't know if drunkenness has an effect on strength/endurance. Maybe the loss of equilibrium would cause you less push ups.

This sounds like a excellent opportunity to test this theory

Maybe, I know I was dizzy but the people who were counting me off thought I was doing them correctly… then again, they were probably more drunk than me. I think I'm going to ask google about this.

Last time I tried I was drunk as hell also. Only got to like 25 or so though. I've never been a hump the ground push up man though. Arm wrestling is what i like. The guy I did push-ups with beat me by like 5 or so. But when we arm wrestled I beat him bad with both my right and left arms.

Pffft, from my experiences, big bulky guys have a tough time knocking out 20: all power/no endurance. I bet Jill could do more than him.

Sure, if you do a lot of curls your biceps are going to be stronger than someone who could do 100 push ups. However, you'd be hard pressed to find a singular workout that is better at improving your upper body than push ups. Pull ups are great at well.
