Your Opinions on RE5's Versus Mode

What do you guys think? Personally, I think it's pretty bad, only because you can shoot other people. The gameplay just isn't made for that, and it ruins the experience. It should have just been getting more points than the other players.

Plus, people tend to quit when they start to lose. So much for the Versus achievements. I'll only ever get the Slayer ones, since the main goal isn't to kill the other players.

Never tried it to be honest.

It sucks, period.

The achievements aren't worth it in my opinion. Kill 100 people with melee online? Win thirty matches of Survivors and Team Survivors? Uh uh.

Slayers maybe, but Survivors no way. In that mode your main goal is to kill the other players before they kill you, which is the only reason why the mode fails so badly. It should have JUST been getting a higher score. If it was that, it would be fine.

I won't get it then. I'm already glad that I got the 1000G from the original game.

Yeah, there's plenty from just the original and the DLC missions. The only Versus achievement that's not a pain to get is purchasing all of the characters, which still isn't a lot.

I still need the egg hunter and treasure achievements. As well as beating DE on Pro.

I need to beat both DE and LiN on pro. That's all I think.

LiN isn't as bad on Pro. I don't think I have even beaten DE on Veteran. Too frustrating.

I don't even consider Verses apart of the Resident Evil 5 experience.

Yeah it's quality isn't up to the standards of everything else in the game.

Tried to beat Desperate Escape on Pro with my friend and about lost my mind. I was so frustrated by that helicopter pilot. It's get to 30 seconds left and that piece of crap would say one of the following:

"Oh shit, sorry guys. I took a wrong turn."
"Oh man, I forgot to fill up on gas."
"Hang on, I'm going to pick something up at the drive-thru."

Seriously, there just isn't enough First Aid Spray in the world for that mission.

My opinion? It's the worst fucking idea Capcom ever came up with. I'm glad I got the platinum without the requirement of playing vs.

Let's just put it this way...I'll never get those microsoft points back.

100% agreed. At first, i thought i would be pretty cool to fight other players with zombies running around. After playing it for the first time, i overlooked one major factor: The inability to move and shoot at the same time. When i realized this, after a couple matches of getting killed over the simple fact "his gun was better than mine", i decided to never play versus again. Now all i do is mercs reunion high score runs, and versus mode is no longer wasting space on my hard drive.

In conclusion, i think versus mode blows, plain and simple. Revelations allowed movement while shooting, so if re6 gets similar controls, it just may be able to pull off a successful versus mode.

I haven't play Revelations but I read up on the Raid Mode and it sounds a hell of a lot better then Mercs or Versus.

Raid Mode. 10x better.

I prefer Mercs actually.

I like the Slayer and team Slayer mode because it's like Mercenaries but competitive, however many players thinl that they are in a Survivors match and this ruin the experiece. Besides there is the problem of those who leaves, specially when the match is about to end. CAPCOM should fix this like in GEARS OF WAR, when someone leaves, the other team or player wins by default. I got all the achievements by the way.

I liked it, but then I didn't like it. The only parts that I didn't like about Versus were:

-The rage quitting
-The slowness of reloading your weapons
-No running and shooting
-Team Slayers/Slayers

Yes! I included slayers because there are a whole bunch of players that treat it as Survivors which is nerve wrecking. Team Survivors is kind of my favorite out of the two, but it really depends on the people you're playing with.

Versus is a good stress reliever. But, in terms of entertainment, I think even ORC is better than this mode.
