Resident Evil Pairings

Other things have kept me from updating my own story, but I hope to get to it either today or tomorrow.

Billy and Rebecca is an obvious one, though I don't know how far they would have made it together for sure. Jill and Chris go well together beyond the game and Excella and Sheva just need to be shot. Or sterilized so they can't conceive offspring...*bricked*

I never considered the Jake-x-Sherry idea though.

I'm a WeskerxClaire fan, just like Meth and Deadly. But I like Leon too, but not as much as Wesker. All I know is I'm obssesed on Piers Nivans just like Lady Yuna XD I don't like much the ChrisxJill pairings but they're fine with me

Chris/Jill (Kinda obvious), but I also enjoy reading Leon/Claire, and Rebecca/Billy.

Yeah, I kinda live on a diet of fanfiction (Especially considering that I write it).....so......yeah......

Chris and Jill mostly. Claire and Steve is a cute couple too.

Not to disrespect anyone's opinions. But am I the only one that doesn't really understand the Chris/Jill thing? They have been partners for a very long time and that means they are pretty close. But, nothing has ever happened or has been mentioned to think other-wise. I personally think they are just very close (considering everything) and are even maybe best friends. But, I don't get the romance vibe that much.

You know the rumor? That Chris and Jill are married? That's stupid

I agree with ChrisSherry, I like to think they're best friends. Sure they could have done some smooching one time, but that was probably nothing.

To be honest, I've never really understood the entire Claire/Steve thing. Yes, he said he loved her, but did she really feel the same way back? Eh, maybe its because i'm a Claire/Leon person

I hate shipping in general, especially shipping that doesn't make any sense, like Chris and Wesker or Jill and Leon, some characters that never even met. Or shit, even Chris and Sherry. That's a new one. Nothing between them getting romantically entangled ever been mentioned, but hey I guess you're living proof that some shippers don't have to make sense.

At any rate, here's my logic as to why Chris and Jill make more sense than other Pairings out there:

1.) Survival of a tragic incident.
When you survive a tragedy with someone you feel a visceral connection to them. It's like you realize you have more in common with thy person more than anyone else you've ever known.
2.) Both of opposite sex.
Means more than it says. Doesn't mean they have any sexual tension with each other but at least they're not of the same sex. Shit that's just weird. But shippers will be shoppers and it makes more sense to pair Chris up with Jill than it is to pair him up with Wesker.
3.) Known each other for a long time.
C'mon, do I even need to expand on that?

That ship makes sense, but I don't think they are in a relationship nor ever will be, either Chris already has someone as Parker suggested in Revelations, or whatever the reason, it really doesn't matter, because Resident Evil is a game that is supposed to evoke fear and expose your vulnerability, not tell some great romance story.

Shippers of a pairing ship it for whatever their reason(s) may be. I ship Wesker and Claire because of the possibilities it holds even though if one would like to think realistically on Wesker's behalf if anything did occur between them both he would only use it to his advantage and would probably only return any affection he received from Claire(if she developed any feelings for him anyway) just to keep a hold on her and use her against her brother. Once Wesker would be done though he'd most likely do away with her as he did Excella.

Then there are other obvious reasons like just seeing the pair work along side each other and thinking, "Awwwww! They're super cute together!" And then it develops sometimes and so on and so forth. And then sometimes it just pops into your head and you wonder. I've honestly never really thought about any other pairings in RE aside from Wesker-x-Claire. Don't quite have an explanation for why I just never really have. Some others might have crossed my mind but that's about it.

On the mention of Steve-x-Claire. Looking at that I never really saw them as a 'couple' in any way. Sure Steve did say he loved Claire but he was also dieing and barely even knew her. His attachment to Claire was probably only that of a friend afraid of their inevitable fate. And then Claire being the type of person she is was distraught over the poor guy dieing after I guess you could say sacrificing himself since he went against Alexia and the virus to free Claire so she could live.

That's usually how I justify Chris/Jill. Then again, Chris/Jill, as in them having a romance, is really only in fanfics/fanarts, and never really said in the established cannon (Save for some things that could be considered "a romance" only if you read into them). So I suppose it goes as far as some people's imaginations want to go.

Maybe they do have some romantic actions off-screen. It's probably similar to how Leon and Chris probably see each other a lot off-screen.
