RE Games Tournament

RE2, by far.

Although I do think REmake is the better game overall, I do have to agree that I feel more happy playing RE2 mainly because it's a much brighter and chipper game.

Both are the best RE games. I don't really care which one wins, as long as those two reached the final, and they did. I'm going for REmake mostly to make this a great battle, but they are basically tied for me.

"Bright and chipper" is the last words I would use to describe any RE game hahaha.

It really is though. More color and brighter areas and stuff.

RE2. REmake is too overrated in my books. If it had been the original...

REmake is not overrated. You haven't even played the remake. It is better than the original.

No, I haven't, but I've seen it through. I'd try it myself, for sure, but I'm not going to get a GameCube (or a Wii) for one or two games. I see it as overrated, although not as much as RE4. It's not that I didn't like it.

First play the game yourself and then talk.

Even if I played it, I can't help feeling it's overrated, is all. I believe it's an amazing game, no doubt about that.

But why would it be overrated. If you look at the votes, RE2 has a big lead. RE4 is the only overrated RE game.

I dunno. I just don't feel a remake should be held in such high regards. It might be the best game ever but doesn't change my opinion. It just feels sad some people are completely forgetting there actually was a original version of the game. As for this tournament, I'm okay with either one winning. They're both games of my favorite franchise so it's a win/win situation for me.

Now, I don't mean anyone here. I hate adding this but I'm sure someone would eventually dig this up and take it as an insult against them if I didn't mention it.

I don't forget that the original exists. I always say RE1/REmake together because it is basically the same game. Remake is just an improvement, so if I had to choose between them, I choose for REmake. Just like I would choose the gamecube version of RE4 over the PS2 or PC version.

I think remake had so many good improvements and additions that in my opinion this is one of the very rare remakes that beat the original.

I actually really wanted to get the original, so I did. I love playing it as it's like treading new territory after playing REmake for so long.

I'll say one thing, RE1 has some charm that I doubt will ever be matched by REmake.

It sucks, though, that in the dual shock director's cut they replace all of the best music with less than stellar music. Wesker's theme is like a bunch of little blips and bleeps rather than an actually melodic theme.

But it doesn't really matter all that much. At least it has the arranged mode so I can play it with differences in locations of items, which is something REmake sadly lacked.

One of the biggest advantages REmake has though is that it is typically played with a GC controller, which is hands down the best controller for the tank-style control. I've said this many times, but the PS1/2 controllers have analogue sticks that are way too big to effectively move your character, but the GC's control stick is smaller and tighter. That makes it a lot easier to evade enemies or even run in a straight line, not to mention making sharp turns.

I played REmake and if I have to choose, I'd take the original anyday. But I understand that a lot of people think REmake is really great for a lot of reasons... I wouldn't say it's overrated, but to me REmake isn't such a big deal.

That's mainly why I've never felt the need to check out the REmake because I've played bother the Director's Cut and Deadly Silence. It's probably a great game it's just I don't feel like it's a necessity to have.

Believe me, there are a LOT of changes so it is definitely worth playing. There is also added story. It is just as necessary as RE 2, 3 and Code Veronica even if you played RE1.

If you want to know about RE it is more necessary to play REmake than it is to play the original. The REmake adds a lot of stuff and changes the canon.

I didn't choose for this final (you guys did) but I am actually happy that those made it to the final.
