| Well, not yet. But I'm on my way! I just recently got my Associate's Degree. Just figured I would let everyone know! I will be going on until I get either a Phd or a Psyd in psychology. |

Awesome. I took Psychology in high school. It was interesting....simple...we had just taken a bunch of notes really. It was interesting stuff though. |

| Psychology really isn't as hard as most people make it out to be. I think I kind of have a mind for it. I think most people just don't find it interesting, so they do poorly. |

That's basically how it works. When it is something you are interested in, it is so simple to listen up and be interested. If it isn't though, the learning experience becomes a task. If there was an RE class, that would be a breeze. |

| If there was an RE class, we'd be teaching it. |

| Thanks all. @Barber: Here in the US, two years of college gets you an associate's degree. Can't do much with it. 4 years is a bachelor's degree. 6 is usually for a master's and it takes anywhere from 7-10 (sometimes longer) to get a doctorate degree. In psychology, you really can't do anything until you have a master's, but I want to go on to a doctorate so I can treat mental disorders like depression and schizophrenia. |

| I can already see you treating the mentally ill... Meanwhile, hanging on these forums is a good start.
You're gonna grow a big beard, right? |

Honestly it's been a couple of years since I read up on him, out of interest that is, so I need to go back and check out his stuff again, but I remember thinking fondly of him. |

| My personal opinion of him is that he was kind of a pervert. With all of his ideals based on sexuality and the fact that almost all of his clients were depressed, neglected housewives kind of says that. |

| its true, Freud may have been a bit of a perve, but he did give the world the process of psychoanalysis in the early 1900s so that counts for quite a bit. a lot of his techniques are still used to this day in clinical and counseling psychology... ive taken a few years of psych... and btw, wilhelm wundt started it all, and he had a bitchin' beard! |

| Yes indeed, old Wilhelm! V-V-V-VVVVilhelmmmm!!!!! I love his name lol. Grandfather of psychology. And while Freud's crap is still used today, it has pitiful results generally. Especially compared to the cognitive and behavioral theories. The psychodynamic approach is old and weathered. I compare it to religion. It's old as hell, widely practiced, and full of absolute bullshit. |

I don't look much in the humanistic/existential or sociological theories. Maybe once they have more solid research. |
