The hardest game series?

this is a topic I wanted to start so we could share which game series or single game was tough to get through from beginning to end...for me I would pick the Fatal Frame series...I have played all three games for the ps2 and they were all hard to get through on the first playthrough...just trying to find your way around was hard but then fighting ghosts in very tight spaces with your camera made the games 100X harder

Good topic.... for me I would have to say the Clock Tower series, they were all pretty tough on a first playthrough. I would also go with the Call of Duty series on veteran, especially World at War.

I'll have to go with the Ninja Gaiden series, although the latest was propably the easiest (easiest final boss ever). Also the Forbidden Siren series. Hard as hell. I'm still going to get Siren: Blood Curse.

Silent Hills are really hard too, but not the hardest I've played.

EDIT: I almost forgot, one of the hardest games to get everything done is the Disgaea series. Although the main story is a cakewalk, the 9999 top level and the hardest optional bosses being that level... It's hard. And the trophy you'll get in Disgaea3 for doing 10,000,000,000 damage... wtf?

I did not think that Siren was that bad...I didnt play Siren 2 (damn region codes) so I cant say anything about that yet...the only hard parts in Silent Hill were some of the puzzles...some of them gave me a hard time

I had trouble with Indigo Prophecy because I started on hard difficulty.

I didnt play all of the clock tower games but I remember it was hard as hell and I loved that game too

I have to revive this topic because I have elected a new series...the Brothers in Arms series is maybe the hardest I have played now...the games just seem completely unbalanced to me

I played a demo of Hells Highway and it was more than enough to piss me off.

I have brother in arms and it took me like 4 years to pass it. I was nearly in tears.

I didnt play Hells Highway yet but the first two for PS2 are almost more then I can handle...its like the Germans are using automatic K98s and we all know that aint possible

Maybe they were Aryan super Nazis with really fast bolt manipulating skills???? Like some project that spilled over from the Wolfenstien games.

Whoo! I totally agree on the Fatal Frame there! God, do you get those
moments where you feel really uneasy or unsure about a room or
a certain hall, your curiosity starts to bite you and tells you
to put the camera up and BAM! The broken neck B*tch just
freaking appears! D: Horriibbbllee >_<

the ending bosses are what got me the most in those games...I had a hard time getting enough combo hits on them before they regenerated their health...those broken neck ghosts did get me too though

I hate the bosses, all of them. I couldn't play the first one because of the blind
ghost. T__T It took me 6 months literally just to get myself together
and play the game.

the boss in the third game gave me no trouble at all just the ones in the first two

The blind ghost is the hardest for me. Because when she stays in one spot
I can't tell which way she's going to appear. 'Cause sometimes she stays there
and you can get a proper shot, or she disappears and flies towards you like
2 meters from left or right. D:

I just thought of a few older ones. The first is Parasite Eve... Not so much the game in general but the Chrysler building was seventy something floors of hell. The other is Top Gun on the NES, as a child I could never land on the damn aircraft carrier. I did rectify that a few months ago when a buddy bought it for his NES. I don't know if I ever felt that much of a sense of accomplishment in my life.

It isn't a series...but try Demon's Souls. I fucking dare you.

I never really had that much trouble with regular ghosts in the games...you just need to time your shots and get that perfect fatal frame...in tight hallways it can be very hard though
