Of course, I don't expect anyone to really agree with me seeing how popular those movies are, this is just my opinion. You can enjoy the films all you want, everyone can. I'm glad you do, but seeing The Dark Knight Rises more than once is enough for me. I know what I like about it and I know what I hate about it. A lot. I hate a lot about it. Possibly the worst film I saw in 2012. |

| For what it's worth I think The Dark Knight Rises is shit too. The plot's nonsensical and riddled with holes, the dialogue is cringeworthy at times and there are a plethora of useless characters and scenes. Also (and I find this to be Nolan's greatest weakness, and not just in the Batman movies) there's absolutely zero fucking character development. TDKR is the poster child for 'All style, no substance'. Which is a shame, I thought Begins was a somewhat average, but fairly enjoyable origin story. And I really enjoy parts of The Dark Knight. But TDKR... - Vandal wrote:

| I lol'd at how Bane just rolls up into Wall Street on his bike and then casually takes over the entire city. |

| The Dark Knight Rises was horrendous. I do like Begins and TDK though. |

| Not on this forum. :/ I literally fell asleep when I watched that movie. I am not a huge fan of Batman to be honest. |

You are right, I have never read a good Batman story. I have never read any Batman comics. I just don't have a desire to read about him. Nothing against him. Now I do love me some Spider-Man. |

Now I do love me some Spider-Man. You should read "Batman in the 50's". It's a collection of stories put into one. I don't remember how many times I checked that book out during my 7th and 8th grade years. |

| I would actually start with Batman Year One.
But! If you're looking for a really great thought provoking "holy shit" stories, check out BATMAN: GATES OF GOTHAM. That is a remarkable story, one of the best Batman writers did it: Scott Snyder.
It doesn't follow Bruce Wayne, it follows Dick Grayson (The First Robin) as Batman, it's the history of how Gotham became a megacity and the secrets that lie within. |

That does sound interesting to be honest because I know Gotham has a lot going on. I would be okay if it did not star Bruce Wayne, I just don't find much interest in him. Didn't Dick Grayson eventually become Nightwing? I only have a basic knowledge of most DC characters |

And I appreciated your input when Spike was going haywire. Though I assumed you just did that because Spike was going haywire. @Ssplain: He did become Nightwing, and then when Batman "died" he took up Batman's mantel. Then Bruce came back from the past like Samurai Jack and started up Batman Incorporated, so Bruce only makes a cameo on a screen, but it really is a mind blowing comic series. |

| Thanks for the insight! I now have options to weigh if I read into it. I normally grab a few comics or a series a month digitally. I do not stray from that friendly neighborhood spider guy to often though. Maybe if I am feeling spontaneous one week I will try those out. |

| And then when Dick did become Batman, Robin was Damien Wayne, Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul's son. Eventually, Damien became the Robin in Teen Titans. |

When did that happen? Batman doesn't stand a chance against Superman, how does his son beat him? |
