I must ask, was that movie any good? All the reviews you might have read about it are wrong, it's a fantastic movie. The aliens in it act like actual soldiers (overwatch, cover, using squad tactics, etc.) instead of being some overwhelmingly invincible force that we're helpless against and it isn't just "ZOMG! Aliens!" the whole way through as the Marines fighting them take center stage as much as the invasion does. All in all, it feels a lot more real than most alien invasion flicks. |

I don't read movie reviews. I've rarely found them to be accurate to my tastes. Anyway, the movie sounds good. I might give it a watch some day. |

| GL is right. The whole time I watched Battle: LA, there really was a feeling of realness to it. It is a great movie and even has some good emotion to it. The aliens even seem like a real race. They are very well developed, while still keeping a sense of mystery about them. And like GL, I am tempted to call it a marine movie before I would call it an alien invasion movie. |

I most definitely see it as a war drama in the same tradition as Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan, the enemy just happens to be aliens instead of WWII Germany and the like. |

It is a real credit to the makers of the film that we actually don't focus on the aliens. How often does that happen? "Aliens are invading!" "Yeah, but check out those marines. They've got some cool stuff going on." "Hey, you're right. Neat." |

| The last new movie I watched was Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Way too much human interaction, not nearly enough giant robots wreaking havoc. It's a good thing they ended it here, although I would've enjoyed to have a couple of Dinobots in those movies. I was also let down by the death of Starscream and how easily Megatron was disposed of.
Aside from that, I just rewatched Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Gonna watch the other three soon.
EDIT: Just watched the whole bunch. The fourth one was a great movie but by far the worst of the bunch. Still waiting for the fifth. |

IDK. I think Saw VII is supposed to be the final one right? I still need to watch that and then I'm finished. I still say the first 2 are the best. "Oh yes, there will be blood". |

| And there was lots of it.
I only watched them through to the fourth movie until I kinda lost interest. I might've seen the fifth although I'm not sure. |

I basically look at those and just the later Saw movies as being...less rewatchable. I know I don't plan on watching Saw VI again anytime soon. It's not that they are bad, just less good. And man I loved the first two. |
