Best RE music

Yeah, that Zero tune is a great one. Very eerie and atmospheric. I always tend to overlook that game's soundtrack, since I haven't played it nearly as much as other REs. I might need to dig it out and give it a listen later on....

My favourite soundtrack overall to listen to is probably RE3. Free From Fear, The City of Ruin, Carlos' Theme, Nemmy's Theme, The Hospital, Disused Plant, the Mercenaries theme......I love it all.

But as for my fav to listen to in-game it's gotta be REmake. Every single track in that captures the mood perfectly. It also has my favourite save room theme.

RE zero: This track is so brilliantly composed. Its soothing, ominous, eerie and really captures the atmosphere of the training facility quite well. The ghoulish sounding choir samples are perfectly placed and extremely unsettling.

REmake: Even though its a short loop I love how it progresses from the plucking harp to the mysterious string melody.

RE2: I can almost say the exact same thing about this track as I did the RE zero track haha. pretty, sombre, and mysterious. I love the way all the strings peak before it recycles.

RE3: This track really captures the atmosphere of the dismal streets of raccoon city. Something about the pacing of it really gets to me. The little section from 19-27 seconds is great with the piano notes ringing in the distance.

RECVX: Only plays in one room in the game but its very memorable and fitting for that spoecific room. I love how they reprise the ashford theme or whatever creating a very unsettling mode. The transition into the string melody with the sweeping piano chords is beautifully done.

RE4: Very hard for me to pick a favorite from RE4. Been digging this one a lot lately. The heartbeat used as percussion is a brilliant idea and really inflicts the feeling of anxiety. The dreadful string swells add to the discomfort this track creates. Thats why I like it so much. Its very affective. I also come from a background of playing and listening to death metal so I'm naturally just drawn to darker melodies and atmospheres in music.

RE5: I'm a big fan of ambient music so thats probably why I enjoy this one so much. The percussion is used very sparingly but appropriately. Theres something very hypnotic about the song too. Literally sounds like you are walking into undiscovered ruins and dont know what to expect.

RE6: Beautifully done short loop. Has somewhat of a hellish tone. Reminds me of older RE music. There are actually a lot of gems on the RE6 soundtrack. It didn't quite affect me as much as the other games music did at first but after taking some time to actually listen to it without playing the game I've grown to really like it.

My favorite song/music in the RE Franchise would probably have to be Resident Evil: Code Veronica theme. I don't know the name of it. You know, the sad one that sounds like it's being played on a piano, then cuts to alexia's final boss music. Yeah that one.

The music that always set the mood for the scares I'd say was the R.P.D station lobby music when you enter...the piano and just the way it goes always creeped me out through my play through.
