Claire Vest? [Updated with pics!]

So I'm sure this hasn't been the first time asked on here, however I can't seem to find one like hers ANYWHERE and I've been looking for nearly a year now.

There's this upcoming event at a local club where people can dress up as video game characters, and I thought this is my prefect chance to finally do the Claire cosplay I always wanted to do. I just can't seem to find her vest. I didn't want to spend over 30-40 dollars for just the vest alone, especially if I need to add anything to it.

So, you guys know for any? It would be a MAJOR help.

EDIT: I couldn't find a cosplay thread, so I figured I'd post it here rather than making a new thread. I finally finished my whole Claire costume recently, and wanted to share it with you guys! The pictures are pretty bad quality. I have some professional ones taken, but I'm waiting on a friend to send them to me.

I did find something close to her vest, but it does need work, mainly the embroidered "Let Me Live" on the back, if you want it to look good you will have to throw down a pretty penny. That and the vest itself is over $100, plus the shipping to Canada I would assume it would cost even more.

I knew the logo is a bit small, but it's fine with me.

Surely you can buy the vest via eBay, the print is the expensive one, mostly here in my country.

I knew the logo is a bit small, but it's fine with me.

Surely you can buy the vest via eBay, the print is the expensive one, mostly here in my country.

That's a really nice vest. If I were to spend a lot money on one, it would have to be something like that. I was however looking for a denim one, rather than leather. I currently own a red leather jacket which I could easily remove the sleeves from and add the pictures, but I rather have her vest from RE2. It don't need to be completely accurate, I just want something close to the color. The only ones I could find were too red. I want something in between red and pink. Almost like a faded red. I did find this one;



The color is prefect, but as you can tell it doesn't look a lot like her vest

First at Miss, that Vest actually looks handmade, I'm sure if one could visit a fabrics store you can make your own vest.

Next, doesn't her Resident Evil 2 vest kind of resemble a one piece type thing?



If I were you I would cut up the jacket… unless you really love it that much…

I think I'm gunna try and go with this version;

Aye, that's from Darkside Chronicles, it only looks faded there because of te style. Notice her skin is a bit grayish blue-ish. I'd conclude that her vest is a little more saturated. I would recommend this one.



It has a collar, buttons, and the bottom doesn't flair out.

I like Claire's RE2 and CVX outfits pretty equally, but I prefer Made In Heaven over Let Me Live, personally.

I'm actually really proud of the vest I found. I didn't even notice but the pockets are pretty much the same too. On top of that it's only $25. If I weren't Asian, and a guy, I'd totally buy it.

Yeah. Should I iron it on with certain type of paper, draw it on myself, etc?

Hmmm, I'll leave this one to REF's resident stylist, Mercy.

I imagine she might've ironed on a patch though. I remember that Chris had a brown leather jacket that had Made In Heaven on the back too. I wish they would've had that as an alt. costume in a newer game, like REmake, or even RE5 or something. It was in REDS though. And obviously you can see it hanging on the wall near his desk in the STARS office at RPD.

Well ironing anything on makes it look much more professional than hand drawing, but I'm trying to think how you would get every single individual bomb apart.

The easiest and cheapest way would be fabric paint or markers. It dyes the fabric, so be careful when applying it. But keep in mind: it doesn't need to be perfect.

Are you a close friend of needles? you coudl sew that sign up by yourself on the back of the jacket . . . But if you really want it to look perfect then take the jacket that you are buying to the actual tailor, it will cost you additional money, but i think that its worth it, it will be done by a professional and will look very good . . . Thats the best thing i can suggest, otherwise you could listen to, as spike said, REF stylist, Gianfranco Mercy . . .

I'll probably just bring it to a tailor, so I don't manage to screw it up myself but thanks a lot guys!
