The Great Spamming of 2012

So let me take you through my day thus far. I wake up in a hungover stupor, I have a message from Mass on Facebook begging me to save everyone from some crazy spam, I get on and see nothing. Then I go to Resident Evil Discussion.

Dear god. That was a good 41 polls by this bot. I hope everyone is still alive after this severe spamming. I must say, I did enjoy the poll about where New Jersey was and the one about yoga towel insurance. Now, I must rest.

That has got to have been the worst outbreak on the site thus far. Glad it's over now.

I'm curious, does it take a long time to delete stuff like that, or do you just check them off and select delete?

There may be. I looked in the admin panel but didn't see a good way to delete multiple threads. So I had to go into each one and delete it manually. It sucked.

I checked, the IP was located in China.

They've probably been raided and shot by now then.

Spam existed long before the Internet. It was just called 'junk mail' back then. But yeah, it is annoying having to delete all those World of Warcraft emails. A game I don't even play or know anything about.

I knew how hard it is for Spike, Nite, and Mass to delete those things manually. Spamming isn't fun. It's actually annoying.

Yeah, Spamming is actually irritating and some other forums I go on also have people who spam.
Spamming is fun for the person spamming though, while it's annoying for Admin and Mods.
