| 1) Is Lisa from RE Remake cannon?
2) Do the events from RE on Playstation become Non cannon now that the Resident Evil story has been retold in RE Remake?
3) Do the events in RE1, 3, 4, Code Veronica become non cannon after Capcom retold the events in a drastically changed manor in Umbrella Chronicles /or/ is Umbrella Chronicles simply non-cannon because it doesn't' follow the events it retells exactly like they happened in the original games?
4) Is resident evil gaiden cannon or non-cannon because capcom ignored it and it's events perpetually in the resident evil storyline? (it might be remade in the future or brought up, but I'm talking about right now)
BTW, There's 2 ways of seeing Cannon:
a) Cannon is a definitive ONE WAY, with no contradictions (Everything that happens in real life is official and definitive because it cannot be altered by anyone, you can lie but you can't change events).
b) Cannon cannot truly exist in fictional works. There CANNOT be a definitive one way. Only real events that happen in the real world are definitive, fictional events can be changed depending on producers, writers, gameplay choices, and remakes. Each game, each play through is it's own event, and the producers, creators, writers choose which optional series of events or which ending, to build the story off of and which to ignore. Cannon cannot truly exist in fictional works, it's a paradox.
My Answers: 1) Yes Lisa is cannon. She is an official update. When valve updated Portal's ending so that it can continue into Portal 2, that permanently changed the ending. It made the Portal 1 ending Non-cannon, and the updated ending Cannon. 2) I don't know this one.... I would think the updating of the story means Yes RE1 on PSone is now non-cannon and RE-Remake is now cannon. 3) Umbrella Chronicles is Non cannon. It's a rail shooter that borrows the events for fun. 4) RE:Gaiden is ignored and abandoned therefor turning it into non-cannon for now. Unless in the future capcom mentions it thus making it cannon or remakes it thus making the remake of Gaiden cannon and the original non-cannon. |

All the new, original storyline in the Chronicles games is canon. The retold parts, however, are not. The retellings are there merely to give a quick backstory to the original parts. - Quote :

Resident Evil Gaiden is not canon. It was originally supposed to be but then RE4 came along and ignored this part of the storyline. The parts hinting to the story of Gaiden, and other non-canon events, were removed from the 10th anniversary edition of Wesker's Report. |

It's just a re-edited version of the original Wesker's Report video, released during the 10th anniversary of Resident Evil back in 2006. |

Did they take out that "Sherry Line" from the end. "Sherry is safe in our hands....I would never underestimate Birkin...there's something about this little girl...". |

| I don't really see any difference in the voice. I have both on my computer but I have no idea where I downloaded them at.
Yes, they took out that part in the end. |
