| Why? To me both seem to work the same way though i have not played much first person games.
Though these genres give a good gameplay experience, i think the dynamics is limited to using a gun effectively and limit the extent of visibility which can add replay value as you can always revisit locations and find items which you did not see on your first play through. But does it really utilize the full potential of the new hardware like other games which concentrate on gameplay more like DMC which is definitely not possible on earlier consoles though first person and third person shooter games are very possible on older consoles. I really can't say if the gameplay has evolved as dynamics are still the same which is to utilize guns effectively and roam around the map. If roaming around the map is interesting, should not open world games be more interesting than first person and third person games.I am jus askin if gameplay has really evolved in first person and third person games like other action adventure genre games.
But i will say one thing, fiction centred around first person and third person shooting games(splinter cell, resident evil) is much more indulging than action adventure style games like prince of persia though mechanics seem to use the potential of the hardware with animations like wall running and acrobatics to the character. My question is , do first person and third person shooter games only for interesting fiction or they do have gameplay evolution that i am not aware of? |

Where else would it be? I'll move it to Pictures and Videos, oh wait, nah, RE Discussion is fine. I like it 3rd, like it's always been. It's kinda nice to have the 1st person option sometimes, like how the CVX Battle Game had 1st or 3rd Person. Wesker's was still a bitch, since he only had the knife...but I've completed it, more than once. |

| Since this is in RE Discussion I'm just gonna assume it means which one I prefer in RE games.
For overall gameplay, always 3rd person. The day RE becomes a full blown FPS will be the day I stop caring about the series.
First person works fine when it's a railshooter because really, how else are railshooters supposed to work? Other than that, the earlier light gun games were good and I wouldn't mind another one of those, as long as it's actually a light gunner and not Call of Battlefield. Preferably I'd have that Survivor Chronicles, a railshooter going through the story of the Survivor series.
Using both seems to work fine too, like in Dead Aim and Revelations, where when you aim the screen goes to first person but otherwise the game is in 3rd. |

Yeah, DA did nicely, and so did RER. It would seem having multiple options for gameplay is a good route, Capcom. RE6, RER, etc. Of course making it so we RE fans have to go out of our way just to play an RE game like a...well, RE game, is a tad ridiculous, but whatever tickles their fancy. |

| WTF is this topic even about? Which we think is better? Which we like more? Which offers better gameplay? |
