Question about Resident Evil 4

I have never played this game. The only games I've played were Resident Evil Remake, RE2, RE3 Nemesis, Resident Evil Code Veronica, and RE5. My friend told me that the 4th had nothing to do with Umbrella. I kept wondering if that is true or if he was just pulling my leg, because he told me that there was a new virus, completely different than the T-Virus and that Wesker or Umbrella was never even mentioned once. Can anyone fill me in about if this is true and what happens.

Umbrella is mentioned at the start and that's about it. Wesker is mentioned in Leon's scenario and seen in Ada's. And yeah no T-virus its a plaga like RE5.

Well, to be fair, RE5 didn't really have much to do with Umbrella either. Since Umbrella has been finished for good the last actual game (chronologically) that had Umbrella still operating is Umbrella Chronicles.

RE4 doesn't have a virus, it has a parasite species calles Las Plagas, which was later used in RE5 to create the Majini. As for Albert, he does appear in RE4 along with Ada and Leon.

If you have actually played all those other games, I'd definitely suggest you play RE4 too.

It's my favorite in the series. You should have played it long ago....
