Well, it was nice being on the top 20 for awhile......

You will get there. I just think that posting a random song or joke should not count as a legit post toward your overall count. Honestly, I'm not even sure how many of your posts will be gone as I haven't looked into those off topic threads.

EDIT: Wow. You had 800 some posts and you are now down to 581? I only restarted a few threads! Well, you only have 9 posts to go to be back in the top 20 anyhow.

I think threads like the song title one that ask for a specific criteria in each post, a song and artist shouldnt be omit just because it's not a long opinionated post about a subject...i think there are plenty of little illegitimate posts all around the forum...

it also sucks that all the memories we made in threads like rhyming and song title are gone forever...

I'm sorry Spike, but that's asinine. Sarg had like 300 posts of song titles/jokes/rhymes. Others had a lot too. And yes, there are straggling posts out there that are basically the same, but not in the condensed fashion as was being created by these threads. Even spammers contribute more than what those posts did.

Yeah but those threads were forum games, they did have a purpose. The post count going up because of it is out of our control.

I really must say I'm with Nite on this one. It was a good call to restart those threads, they didn't really contribute to the forums and out of any RE related thing they had the most views and posts.

Off-topic is still a part of this forum, regardless of whether we're playing a little game or talking about moth balls or whatever that weird thread was about.

but anyway, off topic may be like the kiddies table, but it still deserves some credit for keeping some of us on, or just on longer. idk of anyone that only browses off-topic and nothing else.
