PostSubject: Kingdom Hearts thread   Kingdom Hearts thread EmptyFri Nov 11, 2011 2:41 pm

Remember the Kingdom Hearts games back on PS2? Both games were like a staple of my childhood. I loved how they combined the Disney and Final Fantasy universe. I only owned 1, 2, and the Chain of Memories game on GBA. What ever happened to Kingdom Hearts 3 also? I think at some point they should bundle the first two games together for a PS3 as an HD port with trophies and everything. That'd be great.

Never played the games but I thought I'd shed some light on the next parts.

The series' creator Tetsuya Nomura has hinted in interviews that after he's done with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (for the 3DS) and Final Fantasy Versus XIII he's gonna start work on Kingdom Hearts III.

Big FF fan so I tend to check the updates on Square's series regularly Razz

I like the fact that Neku from TWEWY (awesome game) is going to make an appearance in the 3DS game, being the first character outside of Disney and FF to appear in the games.

I never played the spinoffs that were on the portables. But that's good news.

Makes sense. Are they still in Japanese or do they have English as an option?

Oh that's right they did remake Chain of Memories like a few years later. I never played the remake but I had the original on GBA. I hope the third game doesn't bring up events that occurred in the spinoffs because I'll be lost.

I guess it could hint to them but I figure there's nothing major implemented from them in a main installment.

Just like in Resident Evil. Even though the Survivor series is canon the events are only hinted in the main games.

I don't know, I played chain of memories before kh2 and I think that without it I would have been completely lost..., but the kh plotline is kind of messy anyways

I agree, Chain of Memories basically set up the entire plot for Kingdom Hearts 2. If you went from the first game directly to the second you would have no idea what's going on.

Still, I guess it doesn't apply to ALL of the games in between the second and the third as you would need to have 3DS, PSP, Verizon V CAST and one game for mobile phone.

Right, how do they expect everyone to keep up with the stories when the span the games across a bunch of different handhelds? Regardless, I'm still excited for KH3.

I like KH but now they're too kiddish, I mean they're suppose to be, they're Disney, but there's something about part 1 that I enjoyed more than the others, just more mature. I'll still check out KH3 when it comes out Wink

Gametrailers put Kh as one of the top "guilty pleasure" games, I mean, I like playing KH, but I don't want to be seen playing a game with donald duck, goofy and the little mermaid...

Playing, as in dolls, maybe yeah. And a tad creepy.

Playing an rpg with the little mermaid as a character? Why the hell not.

Again, I'll go out and say a guy in their early 20s watching My Little Pony isn't embarrasing so... Paranoid, yes you are. They're watching you btw. I'd sleep with a baseball bat tonight.

This is probably a bad thing to mention, but I was an idiot and started the second one before I beat the 1st one. I got stuck fighting Riku. You know that part where Donald and Goofy get stuck at the stairs in the mansion thing, I don't remember what room, and Kairi's on the ground asleep or whatever and Riku's in his black outfit. I just got so pissed because I couldn't BEAT his ass. >_______< But I got around to it, though it did take a few more tries. I thought about playing the others but I never did have the stupid systems to do so. It's only one and two for me.

I know exactly what you're talking about. What made that fight even worse is that you couldn't skip that long ass cutscene right before the fight.
