| In the majority of cases, files have always been about introducing an enemy shortly before you encounter them or notes from a witness / character talking about viral incidents or an antagonist to further the storyline.
Not sure how this was different in RE4. If anything I would say in some cases that the Los Illuminados and villagers were careless to leave the files where they were to provide Leon information.
I don't see any difference in the type of file content or placement of the files compared to earlier games though.
Happy to provide some examples if you're not convinced. |

| I've loved all of the notes in the games, but the ones in RE4 and RE5 were especially great. I love it when you read Luis' report on parasites when you're in the dungeon with that creepy music in the background, and the in-depth background information in RE5 about the formation of Umbrella.
The best of course are the first hand accounts of people tranforming into monsters.

| The files have always been in there to provide the backstory. They are one of the main story mechanics in the games. Way more important than the typewriters, if files were cut I don't know what to think.
The Alex Wesker files in RE5 were one of the best. |

That's mainly what I was getting at.

The Alex Wesker files in RE5 were one of the best. fuckin A, thats what im talkin about. re4 had some good stuff, but re5's, while you couldnt file tjem and hold onto them like in every other re game, still had some of the best in any re game. the stuff about alex in LIN, the ones from brandon bailey, especially the ones talking about spencer, marcus and progenitor. 500 points to mass. |

| I really wish the files were added in the "Files" section in the main menu after you find them all. While it had some interesting stuff there too, I would've liked to get the game files also.
Say, Spike, are you playing the Inserted Evil alternate reality game? The files you get there are GREAT. |
