Which was said of the last one, too, so you'll all grow accustomed to it and cry for it when the next new design is implemented. I personally like it. The front site is shit, but I just love that playlists are now displayed right next to the video. And since I don't go to YouTube directly, at the moment, but rather to bookmarked videos of a playlist, that was the first thing I noticed about th new design, so I am positively biased.

I won't grow accustomed to it. I've used YouTube since it started (I feel so old) and every single time I get used to the new horrible design they decide to turn it upside down. I literally can't think of any other site that would do that so friggin' often, if at all. Why fix something that isn't broken? I haven't made a thread before on the matter because the changes haven't felt this stupid in a long while.
First of all, I cannot make the front page show only the newest videos from my subscriptions like it previously did. I have to wade through three pages before actually getting what I want.
Second, they deleted the "Browse Videos" button in favor of "What you SHOULD watch". So get this, a video sharing website suddenly doesn't allow you to browse videos. I can only see the ones Google wants me to see.
The front page is suggesting me videos I have seen already based on the fact that I have seen them already. What the shit. Then they recommend me channels I have already subscribed to.
They deleted the "New Messages" thing. Now I have to go and check my mailbox every single time I think I might have gotten comments or messages.
Lastly, what's the point of the "[Your Username Here]" button? I can see what I have done in the past few days? Oh really, I'm just that damn OCD that I need to check what I have done. Because I apparently can't remember stuff like that.

I'm not a big an of it either. While I can still do everything I used to, it takes a couple more clicks now. They seem to have made it less convenient.

Huh. Adblock Plus does get rid of all the ads on YT for me, even the ones on videos.
What really annoys me is their inability to just stick with one thing and forcing stupid social media stuff that nobody cares about.

Adblock plus get's rid of all ad's for me as well. It is annoying that they change it so much, it would be less of a hassle if they actually made changes for the better but instead they usually give you these awful layouts that look less appealing everytime and complex forms of arranging the whole layout so your spending half your time going through your layout and account just to find something simple that should have been either under the settings or somewhere that user doesn't have to trawl about to find it. The whole point of web/graphic communication is so that all ranges of users feel less intimidated by the layout, something that's appealing to the eye and clean, handy coded features that makes your time using the website or your account a pleasure. I only really like the new playlist scroll feature on the new YT layout, its handy and more convenient than going into the playlist itself and clicking on the specific video or part your after, although one good feature is not going to get to me "Thumbs up" the new direction.
I bet the layout wasn't even the design teams fault, it would have been marketing that screwed up the design process, it ALWAYS is. You would think people that would have the job role in media marketing would be a little more community savvy, they always have there heads up there ass and have no clue as to what people like or what trends are going around. They just give web designers a list of things that need to be done (some near to impossible to achieve) and expect it to be done and withing a unrealistic time frame. Marketing agents are just monkeys in suits firing order at you and expecting you to pull their magical ideas out your ass when they very little about the design process. ....... rant over.
I wen't a little off topic there but at least I'v gave you some insight into what company's treat there designers and programmers like. It was very rarely the design teams fault, that's why I never bitch about the programmers or designers because it's almost never them that fucks up products or sites, it's the arrogant, hot shot sons of bitching earning the fat cash, sadly.

YouTube has been screwed up for a good number of years now. Too many times people try to fix what isn't broken. Look at the mess that Flickr's new bosses dreamed up. This should be no surprise.

Yes indeed. And that's exactly why I decided to not post walkthrough videos on YT for the time being. I'm not even looking to make money from them anyway.
