I'm getting a strong feeling that this game is actually going to take place in San Andreas.

Based on what? There's been zilch actually confirmed about GTA V by Rockstar and all we have that's official is a logo, which coincidentally uses a "V" identical to that on an old ca. 1900s-era $5 bill featuring Hunkpapa head chief Running Antelope.
If anything, all this suggests so far is that the game may take place in the late 19th/early 20th century. I don't see where you get San Andreas exactly from that. For all we know, it's takes place in a completely new city not featured in any GTA yet (e.g., Capitol City or Carcer City).

Hell, it could be even Vice City. That was just a hunch, nothing else.
There's just this one bit of leaked information that might be for GTAV which includes casting calls for a character named James Pedeaston who happened to be a radio personality in San Andreas. Rockstar is pretty good at keeping things a secret.

Yeah, I heard about that on GTA Place. He also appeared on a couple websites in GTA IV, though, so he isn't unique to San Andreas. Besides, GTA V is going to be a completely different continuity to SA. There's no guarantee that he's even the same character this time around.
Don't mistake this as me being against GTA V taking place in SA, because I'm definitely not. I just tend to grill people about their "feelings" on things in these types of situations because, most of the time, such views are born from Internet chatter and rumors, which almost never prove accurate, rather than actual fact. And all we know about GTA V at this point is that it's called "Grand Theft Auto V". But hopefully we'll find out setting of the game come Wednesday and the long period of speculation will be over, followed by a long period of waiting (since I really don't expect it to release until at least 2013).

I'm okay with it being set pretty much anywhere as long as it's not Liberty City again. Which it won't be.

No, uh, it's San Andreas. The Vinewood sign? You turned out to be right. XD
I initially thought it was Vice City as well when I saw that lifeguard shack on the beach (identical to those appearing in VC and VCS), but it's not.

Oh crud! I meant to write San Andreas xD I destroyed my own credibility here. I was still too astonished from the trailer.

No, I'm sure it won't be Tommy Vercetti. And apparently some journalist is claiming to know a ton of stuff about GTA V and spilled the beans on it. No one knows if anything this person says is true, but it is interesting. I would post a link but I can't on my PS3. Google it.

The new trailer for GTA 5 looks pretty good to be honest. The lighting in it looks cool.

Anyone have the slightest idea on when this is going to be released? Wikipedia lists this as 2012 release but I haven't found any official info.

Looks like GTA V might only be Los Santos and the immediate surrounding area.

That's what I have been hearing over and over GL. It is probably true, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. It can be a huge City and it also has a ton of surrounding area to play with. A ton could have happened to this city since the 90's.

Still, I'm a little iffy about the rest of SA being left out. I'll buy the game either way because I'm a GTA fanatic, but one of my two favorite areas, Bone County, will be left out.

The desert next to Las Venturas, where the military base, derelict airstrip, ghost towns, and such are all located.

My guess is, if the game actually is only going to feature Los Santos, the other places could be DLC add-ons.
Seeing how well Lost and Damned, Ballad of Gay Tony and Undead Nightmare did for Rockstar's own games and Burnout Paradise's Big Surf Island which actually added a whole new island to the game.
