R6 Weapon Questions

I was playing RE6 and was wondering about what some of the characters were using. It's safe to say that at this point in the series most, or at least some, especiallly the more important characters kinda have a signature weapon that has been established for them.

That said, I was wondering what pistol Leon is using? It looks like his original VP-70 from RE2 as a member of RPD. He also had his custom silver colored pistol in RE4, which showed up again in Degen, while DSC showed him using the original VP-70. In RE6 it's obviously not his RE4 "Silver Serpent", but it doesn't get very technical with the names, especially not like it's predecessor, RE5.

Likewise, in RE6 Chris is a beast, so much fun to play as in Mercs, which actually isn't so bad. I did get a 60, 000 Score with Leon and earned a C...

But anyway, which knife is Chris using in RE6? Chris' signature thing has always been wearing the color Green, and always having a knife(Yes I'm aware his CVX STARS uniform did not). The signature knife holster he wore on his default STARS uniform, also Claire used the knife holster on her pink biker vest, showing sort of a Redfield Tradition, til Leon used it in RE4, then Capcom messed up the continuity by each time Leon wore his RPD uniform after RE4, it had the knife holster on it, very lame.

Chris has his 6 inch Bowie hunting knife from his days in the Air Force, it's a beast, and then he has that mini-machete that he carried on his back in RE5, which is also a force to be reckoned with, although we hardly saw it used. Not once in cutscene, and actually the only time I recall that you could was in the final fight with Wesker, where you can kill him with a QTE, and Chris stabs his ass. In RE6, if you equip the knife with Chris, he can do all kinds of cool shit. If you time the reversal, he'll gut the enemy, melee from behind, he slits their throat, etc. Hope that's not too gruesome for you guys.

And lastly, for now, I noticed Ada has a machine gun, and a bowgun. Idc about the bow as much, but I would like to know, is she using the TMP that she became kinda known for using in RE4? In RE4 Krauser and HUNK(In Mercs) also used TMP's, but it's become kind of signature for Ms. Wong.

This thread is in some serious need of GL. Too bad he propably isn't playing the game anytime soon. We lost a good weapon expert there.

The names and weapons for RE6 are ridiculous. Most of them are made up because Capcom didn't get the license for their guns this time around. Resident Evil 5, most of their guns were all licensed. Now we have horrible gun names like Ammo Box 50 and Assault Rifle for Special Tactics.

Well, that's lame. I was wondering that myself. Since the firearm damage bonus is only upgradable with actual skills instead of weapons upgrade, I wonder, for instance, if the Assault Rifle for Speial Tactics is stronger than the Bear Commander....

There is absolutely no way to know for sure because some of the enemies vary in health too. But for all intents and purposes I believe the Assult Rifle for Special Tactics is stronger but less accurate, and the Bear Commando makes up for its weak power with the grenade launcher.

This is so annoying. I wonder how they didn't manage to license the names for their firearms in the first place. I mean, unless I'm mistaken, ALL previous games were licensed, no? I must admit I'm not too imformed about it.

I think Leon's handgun is for sure the VP70/Matilda. As for the other guns I'm not entirely sure. I don't think the Ammo Box is the TMP since it's technically not a submachine gun but a fully automatic pistol.

We need to get GL in here.

The Punisher is my favourite real gun, oh wait...

I unlocked Jake's Down With The Sickness outfit( I call it that since it reminds me of disturbed for some reason), and he has a survival knife at start...it looks a lot like Chris', but IDK. Either way Chris has more skill with it, as Chris can do a quick shot with it, pressing the aiming and strike buttons at about the same time, so he wins there.

I wonder why Leon gets duel wielding? I mean the only other game that exists in is CVX, and thats right up Chris' alley, yet Leon gets the duel wielding capability...
