| Subject: Questions About RE On DS/3DS Wed Jan 16, 2013 3:00 am | |
| Okay, my first question is about the 3DS. I was playing REDS, which is a regular DS game, which I've played on my original and DS Lite, when I owned those. More recently when I had played through on my 3DS though, since it is backwards compatable, there were parts I couldn't seem to do anything about, because I couldn't seem to find the mic on this handheld.
So when I was trying to give Richard CPR, Jill sat there, mouth to Mouth with Dick Aiken, as I blew on my 3DS for a good 90 seconds at least, in the places where the mic was at on previous DS models...but I got nothin'.
Does the 3DS have a mic or a way to blow into it for certain games, or did they drop that?
My 2nd question is about Mercs3D, on the 3DS.
How do you do the running/dashing sprint thing with Wesker?
In RE5 Mercs, you could click both analogue sticks(L3/R3) to perform the dash, but clearly the 3DS's controls aren't quite like that, and I've pretty much tried everything. I know you can, because I've seen people do it, but I'm oblivious as to how... |

| I was actually wondering about the mic on the 3DS yesterday. Anyway it's by the start button. I don't see why they'd take out that feature though |

| I've only recently started playing Mercenaries on the 3DS. I've only played it once, but so far I find the controls very hard. My opinion that shooters don't belong on handhelds still stand, for now.
I had no idea you could sprint though. I tried, but no luck.

I think the sprinting thing is only with Wesker, but the controls aren't that different from Resident Evil 5's controls except you can move and shoot by holding L. Though Revelations is easier to use if you have the Circle Pad Pro... do you have the 3DSXL? Or just the normal 3DS? |

So I'm just waiting for that to arrive before I start playing Revelations. |

| @Choco, thx! That's it, there's a little hole by the Start button. - Teh Black Cat wrote:

Are you using the default controls? Isn't Mercs3D first person on default? You can change the controls to where they play exactly like they do in RE5, except holding L will allow you to strafe around, while moving and aiming, instead of the quick-knife. The controls are actually real nice. I haven't played with the Circle Pad Pro, but that may be your forte. You should check out the other control schemes. Curiosity didn't kill teh cat you know. Oh...and any word on the dashing with Wesker? X is your taunt, and Holding it while pressing the D-pad in one of four directions will use one of the voice commands, “Thanks”, but how does one do Wesker's sprint? |

| Okay, found the info on the sprint. I figured it out when I originally played through the game but didn't remember anymore.
Anyway, here: Press right on the control pad to perform a dash then press any direction on the circle pad + Y to change the direction of the dash.
Hope that helps. |

Hope that helps. I tried it out, it actually works. You just press left on the D-pad...I can't believe it. Of course I don't play as Wesker in that game so much anyway, but I just wanted to know. Jill and Claire own! I would enjoy them making a Mercs3D 2, and actually doing what they should've done with the current Mercs for 3DS. Like the amount of characters, costumes, levels, extras, etc. I'd buy it. And hell, have a Raid or Battle minigame mode, like we've seen in previous RE games. Maybe even allow for mulitple people to play together, like how you could have 4 people play together in REDS. I used to love doing 3 people runs in REDS. |

They actually added 4-player-coop in the iOS version of the game, though they definitely cut the amount of characters in that one. Maybe we'll have that co-op option in future independent Mercs games. |

| Who would be added/subtracted in your dream RE:Mercs 2 3DS lineup? I was thinking lately about having one just based on dead characters, but the idea didn't seem complete.
Wesker, Forest, Steve, Piers (alt. costume is with the arm), Krauser (if he's dead, I'm still a conspiracy theorist), Luis... see? The list isn't that long. Unless you wanna throw in Chickenheart which would be funny.
But I agree with the Raids mode comment. After playing Revelations then going back to play Mercs 3D, I felt RER had a better minigame mode than the whole of RE: Mercs. Customizing your awesome list of unlockable guns was awesome. I don't remember if they had skills too. |

Kenneth, Richard, Joseph, Enrico, Edward, Kevin, Mikhail, Excella, Irving, Rachel, Sergei... Then there's all the dead BSAA and UBCS operatives in addition to a whole bunch of baddies like Morpheus and Jack Norman.

| I'd add:
Ricardo Irving Leon Kennedy Ada Wong Carlos Oliveira Steve Burnside Nicholai Ginovaef Mikhail Victor Jack Norman Billy Coen Helena Harper Sherry Birkin Jake Mueller Ark Thompson Bruce McGivern Fongling
Alt. Attires:
Jill(Bird Mask Disguise) Jill(Battle Suit) Chris(Made In Heaven Leather Jacket) Chris(Safari from RE5 opening/Not Zebra design) Chris(RE6 BSAA w/ vest) Wesker(CVX tactical outfit) Wesker(RE4 suit) Wesker(UC STARS post T-002 attack) Krauser(DSC red shirt oufit) Krauser(RE4 Mercs/Shirtless with special arm attack) Claire(RE2/DSC cut-off shorts) Claire(Degeneration attire) Leon(Damnation attire) Leon(RE4 w/ jacket) Ada(DSC red dress) ADA(Damnation leather skirt) HUNK(Umbrella Special Forces) HUNK(Vector attire) Jack Norman(Veltro gas mask) Jake(Mercenary jacket) Sherry(winter gear) Helena(Agent attire)
I'd like a good selection of BSAA characters to choose from too, especially if it's 4-players. BTW Mass, what is IOS?
Clive R. O'Brian Chris(LIN BSAA outfit) Jill(BSAA w/out cap) Parker Luciani(BSAA) Jessica Sherawat(BSAA/winter attire) Josh Stone(BSAA) Piers Nivens(BSAA china attire) Rachel(Whatever her last name is)
Possibly STARS members:
Alpha: Chris(Average sized) Jill(RE1 hair tucked into berret style) Barry Joseph(w/ his shotgun) Wesker(REmake, not RE5) Brad(w/out Pilot Helmet)
Bravo Richard Aiken(UC with walkie and earpiece, and Assault Shotgun) Kenneth J. Sullivan Rebecca Chambers(w/ dog tags) Forest Speyer(w/ grenade launcher) Enrico Marini Edward Dewey
Each STARS member should have the M92F STARS custom handgun too.
IDK if I'd want non-combat or obscure characters:
William(We did see him holding a pistol in RE2 to defend himself) William Birkin(RE0 and RE2 lab attires) Morpheus(We did see him using his Beautiful revolver handgun in the Opening) Vincent Goldman Buddy(From Damnation, simply to have the Master/Slave relationship with Lickers) Chief Irons Alfred(w/ Sniper equipped w/ scope and laser sight)
Maybe the Outbreak characters...
As for enemies:
T-virus Zombies Crimson Heads C-virus zombies Las Plagas infectees(Type 1(RE4 Ganados) and Type 2( RE5 Majini)) J'avo BOWs(Various Hunters, Lickers, Regenerators, etc.)
Boss Enemies:
In addition to the ones we already have,
Reapers! Tyrants(T-103's mainly, even allow some to mutate into a Super Tyrant) Nosferatu(Alexander) Leech Man(RE0 Mimicry Marcus) Rachel(Mutated)
That's all I can think of ATM. |

iOS is the operating system for Apple products like the iPhone and iPad. Btw. Rachael wasn't with BSAA, she was with FBC. For that matter, there should also be Raymond Vester in there. SPEAKING OF, wouldn't it be freaking awesome if they added a campaign for those two in the console version of RER? Like, their mission before they got seperated and Rachael got mutilated. |

You know I would, if Capcom would just accept me as part of their development team. Honestly, I'd oversee it all, and they wouldn't even have to pay me. Heck, Id do it for fun. They would just have to feed me. @Mass, yeah I know. Actually like right after I posted that, I popped in RER, and I was at that part where Raymond mentions his partner, Rachel...then I knew you'd catch that lol. I'd like to add other stuff too. Enemies: Cleaners(From Survivor) I wouldn't mind having those enemies shooting at me, I actually liked the Cleaners. As for the Stages. Basically they need all of the RE4 and RE5 levels, then some more. The Bio-Dome Garden Sector and Harvardville Airport from Degeneration. Maybe replace the Ship Deck with that Bee Hive area from Damnation, where the surrounding area was filled with freight containers, where the two Tyrants made their appearance. How about an area of Sheena Island, and the Spencer Rain for Mercs stages. They could put some effort into the VA. More BGMs to get us pumped up during our Mercs runs. Even give us an option to select the track we want to listen to before starting the run. Tons more weapons and ammunitions. Maybe give us a lot of customization possibilities, so I can choose my Striker and a machine gun, and handgun. It'd set each player apart that much more too. I got too many ideas...I hope Capcom reads this. |
