I agree, her superpowers were lame and having a completely overpowered main character really made the movies suck even more.

Well in the movies Alice is the only one for whatever reason whose DNA bonded with the T-virus without any of the bad side effects. Meaning that the possibility of her powers returning is plausible. But what I'd like to know is why is her DNA so different from everyone else on the whole planet to begin with. Where did she come from? What is she really? Those are the questions I'd like to see answered in the current franchise but I know better to not hold my breath waiting for an answer either.

Regarding her superpowers coming back, what if something happens to her in the movie
that relates to Jill in game? So she was infected with T-Virus and it bonded to her Dna,
then she was cured/infected again to take all that off? She was still pretty strong as a human
but that could have been her anti-bodies reacting to the injections?

I doubt Anderson read how Jill came to be in RE5.

The disappointment over Capcom's decision that the live action films were to have no tie ins to the games makes some people say really regretful things like that.
