| I only like Degeneration. The live action movies felt like a joke. Sure, I agree if the movies follow the games too much it would become predictable and boring. I'm all for mixing it up, but it looked like a train wreck. Extinction really killed it for me.

There are movies about books that follow the original story pretty well and those never got boring. How would that be different with a video game? I would much rather have had Romero's script for the first film (although the one we have now is quite okay) as it would've been nice to see his version of the Mansion Incident. |

Hmm...ok you make a good point. Also, why was Romero's script thrown out? |

| If you take the live-action movies, and separate them from the games, they might be good action movies. But being a fan of the games, I find it hard to take the live-action movies seriously.
I absolutely love Degeneration though. |

| I do take them seperate from the games, it's just that I can't see Afterlife as a good movie at all and the poor story in Extinction makes me not like that one. - Jill Sandwich wrote:

I actually don't know. Have you read it? |

I actually don't know. Have you read it? Wow I just looked it up as to why his script was thrown out. The director said that the producers wanted an action-style movie and Capcom stated that his script wasn't good. Well that's Hollywood for you... |

I actually don't know. Have you read it? I was watching the first one, and it's about as good as I remembered it being. Which is a positive comment BTW. |

| All I will say is they are a complete abomination.
I accepted the first film in a sense, up until they made the licker mutate into a Licter (which strangely, never happened in Apocalypse).
But yeah, when they made Carlos Oliveira the muslim guy from The Mummy (oded fehr is awsome in that film), made Nicholai 'sokolov' a complete ginger pussy. let alone making Alice invincible, then a clone, then a ninja, then flying through church windows on a motor cycle. I never watched another one.
But yes, from what I saw of RE5 film, it looked like Ninja's meets terminator with all those flying Skynet machines.
I daren't look at Chris from Prison break, terrible Claire, the murdered Jill, the horrid leon or any other massaced characters. They should remove the name from the films, remove the poached characters then they can be an abomination not related to th RE franchise. |

| The first one was decent, the second one was bearable, the third one was horrible and the fourth one was beyond horrible. And Degeneration was awesome.
@Fernando: I don't remember Leon being in the movies. |

| The first movie scared the sh!t out of me, I was like 9. The second I was amazed by, I thought it was the sh!t, I was 11 or so. By the 3rd one I was more mature and actually knew the games well to know it was major BS, completely hated it. The 4th I didn't like either.
Re-watching the first 2, I actually still feel "eh" about them. They're alright, the second one could've been better, Jill could've been less of a bitch and have more action scenes than Mary Sue Alice.
Really in Apocalypse, you could have just pretend that Jill met the survivors from RE Outbreak and was helping them survive, but it didn't turn out that way unfortunately. |

| Resident Evil: Awesome! Horror, Suspense, Action, Great characters, Great music score! Best out of he series.
Resident Evil Apocalypse: Little less horror, alot more action, Good music score, Jill Valentine, LJ, and the Nemesis made it very good to watch.
Resident Evil Extinction: Good setting, Good music score, Cool zombies, Claire Redfield was awesome to see. Again very little horror, but plenty of action!
Resident Evil Afterlife: Great opening scene in Tokyo with the zombie chick, Great music score, Completely action packed, not so much horror anymore, liked Wesker, Chris was cool too. Hate the new zombies in this, not scary at all, prefer the slow moving ones in first two films!
Resident Evil Degeneration: Brilliant for a CGI movie! Great to see Claire and Leon back together again, also was cool to know they used the same voice actress for Claire in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Loved Curtis Miller's character, and was cool when he became G-Curtis. |

Claire and Chris were very out of character in these movies, especially Claire. She was very bitchy in the movies but in the games she's always kind, still a tough chick but not to point where she's angry all the time trying to act badass, Chris acts more like that, but still pretty kind and cares a lot for his sister. There wasn't much brotherly love between Claire and Chris in the movies, they were just like "Oh cool, we're siblings and I haven't seen you in a while but I'm not even going to bother giving you a real sincere hug because I'm too busy trying to be a badass." |

| I have a question regarding Nemesis in Apocalypse.
Who's bright f*cking idea was it to have him as a dwarven hobbling penguin in bondage shiny leather, could take bullets easily but a pole/shank impaling kills him, immediately after he enters into a boxing fight as a messed up Mike Tyson?
In all seriousness, how is that even entertaining? Super tyrant thing with a massive gatlin gun and automated computer chip target system Terminator style with absolute weapon profficiency, decides to go boxing and dies by being impaled. yet, Tyrants dont feel pain per say, not does impaling them kill them. So the question must be asked, why didn't he mutate? In the first film, Mat's arm have the nemesis tentacles coming out of it dont they? Where did they go? Why is he a pussy? Why is it so damn dwarven in scale?

Because Nemesis is hot for Alice. And Alice is a Mary Sue. I thought that was dumb too though, even as a kid I thought that was a stupid scene. The only good part in that is Fegelein (you know, from the Hitler meme hahah) The movies in general lack transformations, and when there is one, they're just lame and don't live up to those in the games. Nemesis is not the only one that was made to look like a wuss either. I agree, Wesker's kinda a wuss when fighting Alexia in CV but seriously, he just gets stab in the forehead by Alice and that's it? What a bitch that Alice And it's not just the villains, she makes Jill and all the other characters look like wimps too. |

| Personally I find some of the films and scenes quite entertaining, but not in a way of Resident Evil -entertaining. First one was the best imo, followed by sequels in pretty much the same order as they came out. So in other words it's just getting worse and worse.
Question is, if YOU had a word in how movies should be done, then how should they be done ? If they were made exactly like games; couple of actors/actresses, most of the time we would see main character running around in different locations, looking for keys and clues. Would it be entertaining and bring viewers ? I don't know. Don't think I've ever seen a film like that. Or if it was with bunch of people surviving in midst of chaos, like ie Cloverfield was, or other similiar movies. Maybe ? Would it still be Resident Evilish ? Just to see them from another perspective; behind the camera, not FROM the camera. |

You should make a thread for that, it's an interesting idea |
