| ===== Site ===== http://residentevilradio.comOh God it's good you guys. I've been listening to it for a while and I'm drooling in nostalgia. ===== INCLUDES 606 ORIGINAL SOUND TRACKS FROM ===== - RE 0 (48 tracks) - RE 1 Original (29) - RE 1 Remake (29) - RE 2 (64) - RE 3 Nemesis (70) - RE Code Veronica X (30) - RE 4 + Ada's Mission from PS2 port (59) - RE 5 + All DLC soundtracks (103) - RE Survivor (17) - RE Dead Aim (9) - RE Outbreak (27) - RE Outbreak File #2 (28) - RE 1.5 Demo (never before released music) (2) - RE Mercinaries 3D (23) - RE Dark Biohazard Mod Music (fan made but sounds very RE-ish) (2) - RE Revelations (48) (the only games I don't have sound tracks from are RE Revelations, Operation Racoon City, Umbrella Chronicles, & Darkside Chronicles) The playlist is randomized. The only tracks I didn't include were tracks that just didn't fit. They were terribly composed or sounded awful. If you go through the soundtracks of the games you'll hear quite a few songs that are just... not easy to listen to. RE Survivor has a lot of them, RE Zero had quite a few with the leech queen battles. All songs are 64kb bitrate (It's a bit lower than I'd like but sounds perfectly fine as background music played through speakers) !!!! STATION WILL BE UPGRADED TO 128kb BITRATE, so double the quality it currently is, all songs will sound like a typical mp3. ===== I NEED YOUR HELP ===== What kind of songs do you prefer? Right now the station is a mash-up of a whole bunch of atmospheric and ambient RE sound tracks. I was worried that people would only want Atmospheric tracks or no battle music or this or that. Tell me if a song plays that you absolutely cannot stand.

| Whoooo! Coool Resident Evil 2, Nemesis Theme, Code Veronica X, Survivor, and Dead Aim. It's one of the best for me. Although the Survivor Soundtrack is a little bit bad for the ears, but still I continued listening to it. I also love the REmake. It's my first time hear the RE 1.5 Soundtrack, well definitely, it's not familliar. RE4 Ada's Mission is my favorite. I just don't feel listening the Outbreak Soundtrack. |

| I did mention in the other thread about this that these soundtracks are copyrighted and that streaming them like this is infringement of that copyright and therefor a crime punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 or/and a prison term of five years, right? But you can do what you want, it's none of my concern if you get locked up and end up the girlfriend of some fat skinhead named Bubba. |

| By the way, the site is now up. http://RESIDENTEVILRADIO.comYou'd have a good reason to be cautious. But I think you're being a bit overly Alarmist. 1st: Capcom (like Valve) is very kind to the community and doesn't threaten with litigation. In fact the whole game community is NOTHING like the music industry. They don't sue their fans. In the rare event they didn't like what someone was doing they would send a cease and desist letter. Technically THIS forum is infringing on a trademark. You're not suppose to use the "Resident Evil" name in your domain name. Yet ResidentEvilForums.net lives on. 2nd: I would get a cease and desist letter if they had a problem with it. Out of all the playthroughs posted on YouTube that contain both soundtracks and full gameplay, none of them have been taken down due to copyright issues. 3rd: I would consider my radio station under fair use. I'm not profiting from the station. Nor am I willfully damaging or costing Capcom any serious money as they don't even sell their soundtracks anymore. All those soundtracks are out of print. The music is NOT the main product of the games. It's only a part of it. I'm going to contact someone from Capcom this week and ask for permission just in case. Because eventually I want to be able to make some money to pay for the shoutcast server that's hosting the radio. I want this to a be a win-win for capcom. I can't pay $10/month for the radio forever. |

The use of the Resident Evil name in this manner qualifies as fair use because Capcom's product isn't being physically marketed, streamed, or otherwise distributed. - Quote :

You just put the website up. Getting away from the cops for 10 minutes following your recent robbing of a convenience store doesn't mean you'll get off unscathed. And YouTube only takes stuff down if someone requests it. Doesn't mean it isn't infringement. - Quote :

Have you ever seen those FBI copyright seals on movie DVDs? You know the part where it list public exhibitions of the material as prohibited? That's what this is: public exhibition of copyrighted material. Not being the "main product" is irrelevant, the music is still copyrighted. Infringement without monetary gain is still infringement. - Quote :

That's a smart idea and what I would have encouraged you to do beforehand. But I can almost guarantee they won't let you make any money from it, regardless of what it's used for. Like I've said, you're free to do as you wish. I'm not trying to dictate otherwise and if I sound as such, I apologize, but I'm just warning you out of concern that what you're doing might result in legal action of some kind. If you can somehow get Capcom's approval, more power to you. |

| This is cool, just please don't try to make any money off of it, or the lawyers will smack it into oblivion.
I think to make the tracklist even more diverse, they could include tracks from the movies, including the original songs from the soundtracks. |

| Ok I can sleep a bit easier: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_S.978Streaming or recording yourself playing the game then posting it online is NOT illegal. Which is why no playthroughs have been taken down from YouTube. It falls under fair use. If recording and sharing an entire game playthrough (sound effects, voices, music, visuals, gameplay, storyline, dialog) is fair use, I would assume recording and sharing just the sound is fairuse as well. Which explains why video game radios and gh.ffshrine.org are still up. Thank you Ghost Leader for trying to scare the shit out of me with visions of jail time and rape. |

| Ghost is just overreacting anyway. It be stupid as hell to even do anything about the site. I mean Its not like someone went *I wish I could hear that song from resident evil, I guess Ill go buy the game...wait theres a site that has the song so I dont need to buy the game* a site like that is for fans who more than likely already have the game so their not losing any money unlike record companies with music so you know....common sense people |

| Pretty freaking sweet, now I don't have to spend $80 worth of music. Though chances are I'm probably going to buy it anyway to add to the collection. |

| There's been a change of plan...
Rather than a shoutcast server that costs me $10 a month, I was thinking of just having a flash player and a HUGE playlist of 500+ RE OST songs that you can select from or put on shuffle.
How does that sound? That way you guys can skip tracks you don't like. Or go straight to ones you love. |

| Sometimes I come across tracks I haven't heard and like anyway.
But I don't want you paying for it every month, so that sounds good. |

That's perfect, because I was going to make it just like that. With the option to load all 15 soundtracks from the 15 games I feature or just a soundtrack from an individual RE game that the listener likes. BTW, version 2 of the shoutcast radio site is now up, I changed it to a much better HTML5 audio player with flash fallback. ResidentEvilRadio.com |

In all seriousness, I wasn't trying to scare you per se (or "per say", however it's spelled), but rather warn you that you needed to be cautious with this. The majority of Internet people may not care about copyright laws, but they're still laws and breaking them can get one in an awful lot of hot water. |

| YAY! A HUGE update. I took out the radio part. http://www.residentevilradio.comIt's a jukebox now, you can select and play music from whichever game you want. No more waiting for your favorite game's soundtrack to randomly start playing. Or if you like the randomness, just select the 1st playlist "ALL tracks" and put it on shuffle. And I put the box art to all the games featured, a link on where to buy them, about them, screenshots, reviews, video walkthroughs, gamefaq links, so it's more like a Shrine to Resident Evil. |
