Ehhhmmm..... Well the old RE's are were my heart is so I dont know about this for RE but I will say if this has a online mode on it I can see it being not to shabby to play but I do not want this being the new direction RE is going in this time. Anyway it is a RE game so this will be purchased as soon as it's released and then judged on another note the article says that you will have Leon on your hit list I can see ace being in his element with this one LOL

Whoa, return of old members
@Soul: My thoughts exactly, although I never thought of SOCOM developers as shitty
@Mcghie: Leon is only on your hit list if you play on the USS side. That made me think who the Spec Ops characters are going to be as the USS members are already revealed. Well, this propably isn't the way RE is going to be as this is yet another spin-off. It's always good to try things out with these spin-off games, though.
@Neo: the trailer was already posted but the article is nice

haha tried the search feature like a normal member and looked and still posed something late. Oh well since there is more RE news I guess I returned. Kinda coo that we get a multi coop RE game since the last one was outbreak. Too bad that the characters are gonna feel powerful and mow down zombies with ease compared to the previous ones.

LOL just noticed in that screenshot of the sweeper team the character that is called spectre looks very similiar to the gigantic scary SWAT member from parasite eve 2 that used to give me the creeps

@Mass Destruction Specifically I mean "Slant Six", their Socom games have been pretty subpar while "Zipper"'s games have been pretty stellar.

I hope split screen is an option. Online will be cool too.
It doesn't seem like it's going to play like RE so much, probably going to really stray from the RE control scheme, which everything up to RE5 has kept one way or another.
I don't mind how RER and that new Mercs on 3DS are implimenting the ability to walk around while aiming, but the day we have hip fire and jumping, running and shooting like in Halo or Gears, that's the day Capcom will lose some fans.
Anyway, I'm sure this will be great, as I know that lots on here at one point or another have discussed an Outbreak File#3, and this is basically that, I don't know why they didn't just call it that.
It could have been Resident Evil Outbreak File#3: Operation Raccoon City, just use it as a subtitle.

Oh yeah, split screen would be awesome. The game seems to be rather different from the rest, I'm eager to try it out and see how it fares.
I wonder when they're going to announce the Spec Ops characters.

Yeah, they seem really different, though nothing about the gameplay has been reveiled has it?
The characters all seem to have foreign names, russian and whatnot, which is weird, because I just assumed that the USF were...well like HUNK, who sounds pretty american.
If it were the UBCS, then the russian, german, etc names would be more fitting, like Nicholai, Mikhail, Carlos...

As of yet, no.
Maybe the USS are hired specialists from around the world, that'd explain the names.

I hope we get to play as UBCS, they were cool. In fact, it would be cool if we could see the likes of Carlos, and the other survivors.
Other than HUNK, we don't know anything about an other USF members, but this is a nice chance for us to get to know some of them, learn a thing or two.
I'm sure they'll have tons of extras, perhaps just skins, so we could play as UBCS, Leon, Claire, Jill, Carlos, etc. I mean the Outbreaks both had tons of skins, I remember you could play as Marvin and other RPD members too. Pretty cool if I don't say so myself.

I doubt the UBCS are playable (although I really wish they were!) as it has been announced that the game has three factions: USS, Spec Ops and the creatures roaming the city. This game could give us so much interesting information about the USS. Yet, I'm still wondering what the Spec Ops will be like.
UBCS sure were cool, I always tend to like these mercenary groups.

I haven't played L4D, but perhaps it's going to be like that. I think you were able to play as the creatures in that game right?
Anyway, I'm not too familiar with all the classes and whatnot in ORC, but just roaming the city, seeing how they put it all together, hopefully connect locations, etc, sounds like the best reason to play. Hopefully some good music too.

That is correct. Good game by the way. On a different note, Dead Island seems like an interesting game as it has been said it's going to be like a free roaming L4D.
I wouldn't want to play as the creatures in Operation as it'd make it seem too much like L4D... The idea of having two playable sides (actually just remembered, there has only been talk about playable characters on Spec Ops and USS) with four characters each sure seems like a nice idea and I hope they make the best of it.
I'm sure to buy this game on release, it takes the edge off the fact that I'm propably never going to play Revelations or Mercenaries...

Yeah, shame they have those two only for the 3DS...I mean I thought I was in the clear to get all the RE's, having a 360 and a wii, in addition to ps2.

It's been a while since I've posted here, so go easy on me! In my opinion this new entry to the series could be one the greatest titles in the Resident Evil franchise, as long as we are able to visit and explore iconic locations and not just brush past them. With that said I am hoping that there is a free-roam aspect accompanied with a purpose, rather than just 'wiping out survivors', which is the way it seems so far. Although there has not been a large majority of information released, if this entry resembles Dead Rising or ignores the dark and mysterious atmosphere that Resident Evil is known for, then I will surely give it a miss. Another 'issue' which fans continuously refer to, is that this title is being co-developed by Slant Six Games, the studio that developed a number of titles in the SOCOM franchise. Even though there has been no clear emphasis on whether or not the game is entirely played through a third-person perspective, it seems very likely that this will be the case. This new direction is very unexpected, however, I remain hopeful for the final product, unless any information released in the near future ruins its promise.

Niceman! I've missed your long ass posts, somehow.
This game sure has lots of potential, but we'll need more information to know for sure. As I've stated before, I'll get this game just to relieve the sadness caused by Revelations being only on 3DS. It has been told to be very dark so that kinda intrigues me, and also the fact that we could have 8 different playable characters with somewhat different storylines. The new direction is ok, as this is just a spin-off. It's always nice when they try something new with a game different from the main series.

Haha, well I do put allot of effort into it, so how's the forum been going? Back to subject, it's a very interesting concept, kinda reminds of Dead Frontier, but obviously this is Resident Evil so there's no comparison. I hope the cooperative aspect pulls through because it would be great to explore Raccoon City and mowing down zombies with my friends (something Dead Rising never managed to deliver to us).

The forum's been great, we've got a lot of new members but hopefully we'll see you older ones get back every once in a while.
I sure hope this game has split-screen in addition to online multiplayer, that would just make this game even more awesome.
