Fits with what Capcom has done with it's other titles and given Slant Six's history with squad based games I'm intrigued.
Quote :
"Following in the trail blazed by Dead Rising 2, the next Resident Evil game may come from the Great White North. SOCOM developer Slant Six Games could be the latest studio tapped by Capcom to create its games.
A document forwarded to Kotaku indicates that a new, team-based Resident Evil game is currently in development at Slant Six. The developer is responsible for SOCOM:U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation for the PlayStation 3 as well as two iterations for the PSP, Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3. Named (or codenamed) in the document as Resident Evil: Raccoon City, Slant Six looks to be staffing up to bring even more zombie game development to Vancouver.
When contacted for comment, publisher reps said "Capcom does not respond to rumors and/or speculation."
Slant Six Games writes on its official web site that it is currently in development on "an amazing new project" that is unannounced. That project is being developed in conjunction with a "new publishing partner on a world class franchise." Several Slant Six current and former employees list an unannounced "multiplayer action game" for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on their LinkedIn profiles.
In March of this year, Slant Six solicited work for a "Japanese translator/interpreter."
Capcom has looked outside of Japan for help on some of its better known franchises, including GRIN (Bionic Commando), Ninja Theory (Devil May Cry) and Blue Castle Games (Dead Rising 2), another Vancouver based studio that had its zombie project leaked well in advance.
Thanks for the heads up, Hawk." By Michael McWhertor
Some possible ideas off the top of my head: *Single Player Story with four person co-op (playable characters Chris, Jill, Barry, Leon) *Multiplayer Mode (Standard Modes) *Horde Mode

RE does not need a reboot. It needs to go back to it's roots. If these rumors are true, it would ruin RE. It wouldn't even be RE anymore. Terrible idea.

Western developer taking over wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing, just look at Silent Hill Homecoming. That game actually felt like returning to the roots of Silent Hill.
This could turn interesting if they do things right.

Did you not read the article? If this is at all true, they are not doing it right.

I did, but what I meant (and what I originally wrote there) was that if they make the 6th part it might actually be good, but as for this game that they are developing it better be a spin off. Just as I said earlier. Nothing in the article indicates this particular game is going to be the actual sequel, just another RE game.

I think they are implying that it will be RE6. It's nearing the time for a reveal for it. Then the mandatory 4 years of development.

You got a point there... How could I have forgot about Outbreak during this?
The video was a nice add btw. It wasn't here before, was it?

I just noticed it. Another Outbreak could be good. Never played the others. I'm waiting for them to get it right.

not to mention the awkwardness of the controls, the long it takes to open doors, and when a zombie bites you, you have to get a cure before it gets to 100 percent.

Isn't that percent meter there all the way from the beginning? I've only once had the infection get full before I finished a level. The door opening though is truly a bitch. Anyway, I didn't find the controls awkward at all :O

Not that ican remember. In underbelly i keep getting infected and i die before i can get halfway through the level so i just cant be fucked to play it anymore.

that meter is there from the start...the more damage you take in a level the faster it goes up
The AI wasn't mandatory, as you could use Lone Wolf Mode. They also weren't reguired to do anything on the levels, you could just ignore them, unlike with Sheva in RE5.

If this turns out to be the next Outbreak I wonder if it will be a PS3 exclusive, like the earlier ones that were only for the PS2.
