When I'm on my PC. FRAPS is preferable. But 40 bucks for the program isn't worth it.

He is meaning screen capture as in video capture for recording purposes.

I used FRAPS as well and to be honest "40 bucks" for the programs is amazing and well worth the money.
The quality of the program and ease of use is by far the best out there.
I gave Dxtory a try but could not record without it messing up or create huge lag spikes for some reason :/
You have more control over Dxtory though, if I could get it to work properly I would probably see it being better than FRAPS.
Until then I will just stick to what I know.

I had the first HD PVR and I got to see it had a huge amount of problems.
The quality wasn't all that great either.
The elgato game capture is a good CC but when you can get a HD PVR 2 (gaming edition)
for a good bit cheaper I would say go for the HD PVR 2.
I ordered mine on Sunday so it should be here by Wednesday.
I'v been meaning to get it for a long time so I can record my console let's plays and walkthroughs.
Emulators are often glitch and cause a lot of artefacts so I don't want to rely on them to much.
I would much rather record on the native console, using the actual hard copy of the game.
