| How the hell am I supposed to dodge these zombies? There is virtually no room to manuever in these narrow halls and pathways. I am finding it virtually impossible to run past zombies. |

Ah, there's a art to dodging zombies in RE1 and it's not always 100% effective. You basically need to "ghost" the enemy AI, get a close as possible to wall and keep taking short steps and make sure your at a weird angle so the zombie looks kind of at the wall and is basically walking into or along it, then at the last step towards them sharply run at an angle so your right up against the opposite wall and they cant grab you in time. I'm uploading my RE2 speedrun tomorrow I will link you to it and during that I do a few of these tricks that you can pick up on. |

| Also, after you've gathered some experience with the game, you can pretty much memorize where they are and just run through the game with some good timing. |

Yeah that is probably the main thing you need is experience with enemy placement. You cant dodge them in all in Resident Evil 1 though, some you need to drop, like the ones on the second floor above the save room that you get the bag of plant killer or whatever it is. Most you can just simple run past and some you need to ghost in order to get past. I never really liked doing runs in Resident Evil 1, always thought it was a little more challenging than the other titles. |
