I think you were talking about this on another thread...I love MK, and I enjoyed the movies...perhaps I'll give this a watch.

This Raiden episode is the best one yet, but the Johnny Cage episode is almost equally good. The endings in both episodes were the best.

Lobotomies...Just. Ugh. Imagine. People used to go through what they did to Raiden everyday in the 40s and 50s right here in the US. That's just insane. Left tens of thousands permanently brain dead.

That's just sick... Didn't affect Raiden too much, but he's a god anyway.

Oh snap! Quan Chi ftw. Is that canon? That Chi actually killed Scorpion under the guise of Bi Han? Also, my new favorite part of this series is when Han throws his ice and Hanzo slides under it for a spear win. Epic.

This series is supposedly a reimagining of the original storyline but yeah, that actually happened in the real canon. I'm not completely sure if it was Chi himself disguised as Zero but he was behind it all.

At first I was worried that this more realistic re-imagining business was no good. I thought they were going to make all the powers the characters had into some realistic thing. Like instead of Liu Kang shooting fireballs they would have him throw bombs or something. But whoever is doing all this has proven to me that they are capable of making this series great. They really seem to know their shit. I'm impressed.

Nooooo way! It completely changed the storyline and characters and really did seem to take everyone's powers away. And they killed Johnny Cage! Wtf? Lame.

These definitely pertain to my interest... If I had to choose two games growing up that weighed most heavily on my life, it would be Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat. I think I was in the fourth grade when MK came out and God only knows how many quarters that evil machine stole from me.

Johnny Cage is my favorite right after Scorpion but I still liked it. The creators themselves said that they are going for a more realistic and totally different take on the series, one that should be thought of as an alternate version of events. You'll have to admit, they still would've made a better game-to-movie than what the RE movies are.

I agree.... crazy how Paul Anderson single handedly has managed to clusterfuck my favorite games of all times. Hopefully he and Uwe Bol will kill each other and rid us all of piss poor game to movie mistranslations.

The guy who made this is getting praised up the wall for doing with MK what Paul Anderson constantly gets shit on around here for doing with RE? Talk about a bunch of hypocrites.

Well I did enjoy both of the original MK movies. The first one was done by Anderson, right? He did a good job at that. It's just when you make something right (even if it deviates from the source material) it's still enjoyable but when you add your own character to outshine the original cast (RE) or just make a horrible movie adaptation (DOA), that irritates me.
