X-Men: Origins Empty
PostSubject: X-Men: Origins   X-Men: Origins EmptySun May 03, 2009 11:55 am

I went to see this movie last night and epic is all I can say. I know critics didn't really like it much, but a critic's mind is something strange. I went into the movie with limited knowledge of the X-Men and of Wolverine, and one review I read said that "If you aren't a die-hard comic book fan, you'll be lost; and if you are a die-hard comic book fan, you'll be dissappointed." That is one of the biggest lies I've read in an article ever! Well...I'm sure many die-hard comic book fans will be dissappointed just because you can't please them. But the movie is a definite must-see if you're into action/adventure/superhero kinds of things. The intro for the movie is especially epic.

I saw this last night 2. I enjoyed it, but there was alot of parts that were done so badly I couldn't help but laugh out loud, same with some of the emotional scenes, they did a terrible job of putting them together.

Opening sequence with
Spoiler:
was amazing!
Critics said the same thing about Watchmen "if you haven't read the comics, you won't know what's going on" I got every bit of that movie as well as Wolverine. Deadpool was my favorite though.

Seriously, some critics are just idiots...And some seem to just go with the flow...

Like Ebert & Robert or someone had given The Shining a bad review when it came out, and now that it is considered a classic, they reviewed it and labeled it as one of the best movies of our time or some such junk...

Great movie by the way, The Shining.Smile

I haven't seen the new X-men, but my friend had a bootleg before it came out, and apparently there were wire and all that could be seen, and he said if the movie's story was't so good he would have hated it...

lol. I saw a version like that too, unfinished. Some of the wires could be seen, and Cyclops' lasers were cut to CG, as well as falling buildings etc. It actually gave me a lot of insight as to how a film is developed. Very Happy

Yeah, I don't trust critics. They all seem to have an elitist attitude. I go to be entertained and anyone who doesn't go for that reason alone, doesn't deserve to be entertained.

Indeed. I deemed it worthy of a second watch, and that rarely happens with me. The nail in the coffin though, my girlfriend deemed it worthy of a second watch. That's happened like...twice in her life. And no it isn't because you can see Hugh Jackman's butt! Razz

For me it offered quite good insight into a lot of things that go into making movies nowadays look as good and cool as they do. Smile

No. I wasn't particularly thrilled with the previous X-Men movies, so I've got others like Terminator Salvation higher on my list than Origins right now.

I liked the other Xmen movies, but really, Origins is much much better. If you can, I'd suggest a look at it. It may surprise you.

I'm looking forward to Salvation as well. I think it may be a slight dissapointment on the action side, as they rated it PG-13, but we'll have to see.

The Terminators aren't as much about the action as they are about the premise. Although, this movie loses the old premise of time travel, so it may need action to even it out.
