I think it's a co-op game. But I think it could still tie into that title somehow. It would be a pity if this ended up being a bland side story game that didn't really count.

LoL! Yeah, a lot of people caught that. I guess you could argue that he doesn't know anything about guns, besides what he's seen in movies. But it's probably just an animators error. Trying too hard to make him look "cool". Or maybe he's just an idiot.

It's a common (and, to me, annoying) Hollywood trope. Basically, racking the pump on a shotgun and pulling back the hammer on a pistol (outside single-action only ones such as the Schofield Model 3 and aptly named Single Action Army, where manually cocking the hammer is required in order to fire it) has come to be Hollywood speak for "I mean business." The logic that someone would be going armed into a dangerous situation not "meaning business" is, of course, totally lost on some people.
Of course, the most annoying of these tropes for me is when guns make inexplicable clicking noises every time the persons holding them move, demonstrated beautifully with these Soviet soldiers in MGS3.
I'm not into modern RE games beyond remakes of older ones and I'm definitely not into party games like Left 4 Dead (and I think the L4D devs ripped off Claire's likeness for Zoey, but that's beside the point), so this is no interest to me either.

Yeah. I'm not going to buy this game, even if it is a spin off that is a part of my favourite franchise. I'm beyond pissed at this point, after sitting back and hoping things will get better, but I'm starting to see that it probably won't.

I was really hoping for them to talk about Re3, Re8, Revelations 3 or Outbreak 3. This has some similarities to Outbreak in the co-op i guess. It doesn’t look like something I look for in a Resident Evil game though so I’ll pass this one up.

It's just that same old tactic Capcom likes to keep using to sucker people in.
Well, it's one of two possible things: either it will be a hollow SP experience in the vein of ORC that's been hastily tacked on, or it was there from the beginning and Capcom only announced the co-op aspect to gauge fan reaction for future projects. But with how video game developers needlessly keep their secrets about things like this, we'll likely never know which.
What character would you choose to play as anyway?
I don't know who any of them are. lol

Yeah. Valerie, January, Samuel and one other guy. Or you can play as a villain called Daniel. It looks like barf in digital form.

Still don't know anything about any of them to decide. But since there's currently no way, shape or form of me getting this game, I won't be playing as any of them.

He's his own best friend.

Here's a review from the Biohaze user, Dead-Emmett.
I tried Resistance and its horrible, at least in this stage where it is now.
The controls are clunky, (might also be input lag, not sure) characters movements too slow, no struggle moves (and this supposed to be surviving, doesnt feel survive at all), other players constantly on the way, areas a way too cramped, enemies too near and impossible to hit or shoot them, the overall gameplay system is not that great. I played with random people so no voice chat. This game might be playable and fun with friends and voice chat is MUST then or a some kind of plan. Winning (surviving) is very rare and basically a miracle (if that even possible with random players).
Only enjoyable part is the mastermind since you can control the gameplay (not just talking about the whole game and traps) but enjoy with almost none of the negative aspects.
The game is very, very hard, not just because the mastermind can summon anyone and anything a way too much, but also adding all the negs previously mentioned. So at least THIS STAGE of the development this is absolutely horriblesness and only good if the game is 100% free to play. No one should pay of this unless this is fixed. I don't know the difficulty level since there was none to choose from. This might be HARD difficulty, or at least it would feel like that. If Capcom have intented everything I said above, then good for them, they have succeeded, but if not, then they should go back to the drawing board.
Techincally (input lags and whatnot) I cannot comment anything since I dont noticed/care much and all those can be tested better with friends.
