This is a really sad one. The 60s TV show starring Adam West and Burt Ward is what first introduced me to the Batman character. The campiness that made the show great has largely been discarded in favor of darker and more serious incarnations such as Batman Begins and Batman v Superman, but West's portrayal of him is what propelled Batman into mainstream success. It's truly iconic and always ranked among the best by fans and critics alike.

RIP Adam West. Thanks for the memories.

First Bond, now Batman. This has been a bad week for classic heroes.

R.I.P. Adam West. Others may be the Dark Knight, but you'll always be the Caped Crusader.
