I just found an interesting, albeit unofficial, version of RE2 on GBA. From what I could find it would seem it was intended as a tech demo to show what the GBA is capable of. This demo was created by Raylight studios.
Footage showing actual console:
Better quality for gameplay itself:

Whoa.
Well, then again, GBA was 32 Bit.

This got released...think it was a few years back? Can be played in most emu's and on real hardware only goes to the basketball court and that is about it.

Yep. What's seen on the videos is all you get. Even if a GBA cartridge couldn't hold the entire game, obviously, it's still rather impressive on the system.

Then why does Gaiden look like shit? And the gameplay sucks.

Because it was made on an older console with way less processing power and it was meant to be longer than 5 minutes of gameplay. Have you ever seen that cancelled GB port of the original RE?

Well, yeah. A long time ago. Oh well. There are actually quite a few awesome handheld RE's; Gaiden, REDS, Mercs3D and Rev1. Teh Spike would like another for 3DS. Altho there was supposed to be one released for PsP awhile back but it never happened.

I don't really care for handheld RE games.. It's easier to get immersed while playing on a console.

I have a feeling that turned out to be Revelations, somehow.

Usually this holds true. Although Teh_Spike's first play through of the game was on 3ds and that was > the console playthrough. Mostly.

If they wanted to release the full RE2 story... -Replace all dialogue with text -GBA remix soundtrack. -Remove all unimportant files unrelated to puzzles. -Remove Tofu and Hunk bonuses. -Remove and replace death-scenes. -Alter/replace CGI cutscenes with Metroid Fusion-style cinematics. -Release the game in two parts: RE2: Claire and RE2: Leon (canon storyline only, working titles. Kinda like how some of the Crash and Spyro games were released). -Cut down on any camera flares, effects, and flashes (including shell casing ejection, muzzle flares, blood, etc.) -Replace unnecessary unused models and/or redundant models (licker variations, zombie variations, etc.) -Simplified item and file screens and an in-game hud for convenience (In short, Electrocardiogram and ammo counter).
Questions?

After all these years I felt like making a video of it myself. Footage obviously taken using an emulator
