No, it's more like Hugh Jackman in the Prestige, it didn't switch her consciousness, it just created a copy. Alex is gone, dead and buried. All that remains are her inherent memories locked away deep inside Natalia's mind. Whatever she does in the future, it will be Natalia doing it, not Alex, only her actions will now be influenced by the personality traits transferred into her. But she is not Alex and she is not dormant.

Technically Alex is dead yes, but Dark Natalia seemed like a completely separate personality.
I'm pretty sure Alex is in there somewhere, as an independent entity within Natalia.
So well it may only be a copy, in a way Alex is still alive and can return... as a creepy little girl.

Dark Natalia was simply a manifestation of Alex's personality trying to get inside, and in Little Miss she failed. Alex is 100% dead, all that remains is personally traits lying deep within Natalia. When these traits do come to the surface, it will influence her actions and her thinking, but she won't know why she's doing it. She's never going to suddenly wake up, remember her name is Alex and recall everything in her past life because that is not what happened.
