I use fraps to record the game and in game audio, but the problem was that my mic picked up the noise from my speakers so it created an echo. So I didn't add the commentary, but the next episode should have a commentary to it

Oh okay! I had a similar issue when I first began recording not long ago. I still use Fraps to record my gameplay, but I set the audio capture for output only so Fraps does not record my commentary. I now use Audacity to record my audio, you can download and use it completely free. So now I record my gameplay with Fraps and my commentary at the same time with Audacity. You can then just drop the audio form audacity into the audio track and have it play over your gameplay. You can adjust the game volume and the commentary volume separate this way and it makes it sound much more appealing! ^_^

Do you not have headphones? I mean, when the sound comes from your headphones intead of your speakers there will be no echo.
Well, unless you have craptastic headphones like I do but that's a completely different story.

If you want to keep going with PC based LPs I suggest an investment towards good headphones and a seperate microphone. I also suggest recording your commentary seperately from the game audio to avoid any audio delays and whatnot. What do you use to record your videos?

Fraps, simple, not to much cpu usage and good quality.

Not a bad start for a beginner. However I would invest in a decent set of headphones and a separate microphone for recording. a desktop condenser microphone is perfect and there is also affordable brand which will give decent quality. I would also suggest using a separate audio channel for recording, that way it's easy to edit if something goes wrong rather than recording audio and video to one channel. Audacity is perfect for audio recording. Also side tips when recording vocals, use some EQ on your voice channel as to drop some of the high frequency range and also use a little (not too extreme) compression on the vocal audio to try and get rid of or try to reduce vocal hisses and pops. This needs to be done as obviously when we pronounce some words we elongate our "S" sounds or "T" sometimes creates like a "pop" sound, more so when a microphone picks up sounds or you are close to the mic. A pop screen is also beneficial for your microphone is it helps out with what I've just mentioned above about the "pop" sounds from vocal pronunciation.
Now after that you take your seperate vocal track and recording track and put them together and sync them up within a editing software package such as adobe premier, sony vegas etc etc. I would suggest sony vegas as it's more beginner friendly unless you have already got grips on other adobe softwares GUI within their packages (they don't seem to differ in look or features).
Then that's really about it as far as video and sound goes, maybe also get someone who is a graphic designer or can do designs for you on your channel like video overlays, thumbnail art, youtube banner, logo design for your avatar or trademarking if you really plan on doing this for a long time. It's always good to trademark yourself, that way you have a sort of identity that people will recognize over time etc. I can help out with your graphics if you wish, I'm like the forums graphic guy lol.
Anyway, after all of that, just enjoy the scene, talk to others, get feedback from the community and of course the main thing is ENJOY IT GOD DAMN IT

Thanks I used Audacity for these two videos, but had a pain matching the audio with video, so I'll try sony vegas (if its free). Anyways enjoy watching me die

For audio matches just look closely for the first high spike when the audio comes in. It's pretty easy, just might take a while to learn how to sync proper. No Sony Vegas is a pretty expensive package, however if you go on pirate bay you can get a copy of it for *free*. Since your only doing let's playing as a hobby and not for financial gain then I don't see the harm in getting a pirate copy of it. It's your call. Also have you good a decent custom built PC ? Reason I'm asking is because a few parts have been getting pretty huge lag spike. Or is is this a rendering problem ? Least if it's a rendering problem I can give you some render settings use and help you out etc.
Man all this let's play talk really makes me want to start a new channel and actually have a proper go off it lol

custom built? No, but if you want the specs I have an AMD E-300 w/ Radeon HD Graphics 3.6 GB of useable RAM And is a x64 Windows OS according to OBS I don't have that good a CPU (I tried using OBS to record, but it didn't work, so I use fraps). Also if you do make a channel feature me :p

Speaking of trademarking, wouldn't it be amazing if channel layouts on YouTube actually differed from each other nowadays? They won't even let you change your channel name without changing your actual username through google+ now. Remember when we used to have channel names? Yeah.

You on a laptop I take it ? Yeah that makes sense, FRAPS requires heavy use upon your CPU, hence why you get the recording and or gameplay lag whilst recording. If you haven't already I would also suggest turning down the settings of the game a little, in order to help your CPU out and make it less stressed, also since you particular card that you have isn't high end, It would also help you GPU out and give you more FPS and a smoother gaming/ recording experience. You not used FRAPS in a long time but I'm sure when setting up recording you can record at half resolution, then when it comes to editing just up scale the video footage and render it as 1280x720p. You would have to do a few sample videos or just a minute of recording gameplay then try it out to see if the quality is going to be okay, most likely it will.
No problem, I will do
@Mass - Yeah I hate the facebook layout and because I hand't used my account since when google first bought over facebook, I missed every up date and jumping back into the layout it was a mess. I can just remember thinking what happened to the golden rule that every web developers get's taught, knows and practices through their career, "if a user takes more than a few minutes to work out navigation and functions of a site, then you layout if all wrong". The official quote is something to that effect anyway, I just had to fill up the blanks with my own as I first heard my lecturer at college use the a famous quote and that was a good few years ago now lol. What annoys me more is I wouldn't expect a beginner web developer to make such messy layouts and mistakes, let along a MASSIVE name in the digital world, I mean how long has google been operating now ? They should fire whatever director of design how was in charge of making the changes to youtube as this line of work isn't for him lol. All it needed was subtle features added to give a better use experience, it didn't have to have it's guts stripped out and replaced with jargon and nonsense and the whole reason the older YouTube was better is due to the fact's you have just stated, it was more community based and allowed users to have more creative control over their page and content. The trademarking aspect would allow channels to visually stand out and also allow their fanbase identify them. Now it's like facebook, everyone is on a level playing field, you all have to be same, no originality allowed. For me it sucks because I enjoyed creating graphical design's for my sight and getting everything looking nice, now it's only the banner which is a bore. Yeah I noticed that and every time I sign in or ever few day's if I sign in it always try's to pressure me into using my real account name rather than my persona. I'm like NO ! FUCK OFF GOOGLE! I chose my youtube name for a reason, I don't want my real name as a channel name. It is more annoying when they pressure you into doing stuff on their behalf rather than your own. YouTube for me is single handily went from success to failure and it makes me more mad that a company that knows what they are doing fucked the whole thing up. I also predict that this same scenario will happen with the Occulus Rift now, Facebook will say "oh we have big plans for it, blah blah blah", give the money grabbing scumbags a few months or even a year and they will have the such a great advancement in VR destroyed and manipulated for their own finicial gain. It will use it's opportunity to cash in on advertisement and small commodities that help out corporate suits, I can put any money on that.

Thanks for the tips, but my channel name is waffelz, not my real name. I do have a 'channel' that has my real name. But I clicked make a new channel and they let me come up with the name I think google is trying to connect everything to a single email; my channel links to my personal channel which links to my Google+ which links to my email (granted youtube made another google+ page for my channel). In other words the fat cats are trying to use social media as a way to organize people on the internet as they do with people in real life.
