Donations ASAP (or forums will be gone!) HELP

How much EXACTLY does the paid service of Forumotion cost?`Coul you provide a link or something?

This is a free forum. It doesn't cost anyone anything. There shouldn't be a reason for anyone to give you money.

Not necessarily. A free forum hosted by Forumotion will have "forumotion" in the web address (e.g., "residentevilforums.forumotion.com" or whatever), which this one notably doesn't. This suggests to me that REF uses paid features.

I have a DC forum that doesn't have forumotion in the URL which is hosted by forumotion and no one pays anything. If I remember correctly, you had a choice in how you wanted to edit your URL name.

EDIT: I just visited forumotion, they don't even provide a paid forum option. Down's threat to shut down the forums because of insufficient funds are bogus.

After searching myself, Vandal is actually right, I can't find any reference anywhere to paid hosting services by Forumotion. Down needs to explain himself on this, then.

Paying for forums? Donations is fine. But paying every year? This is some kind of a scam. Explain this. Is he going to close the forum if we don't pay?

Some forum hosts have additional services that they offer for a fee that aren't included in their free services and will charge on either a monthly or yearly basis, so "paying for forums" isn't unusual. But like Vandal revealed, Forumotion doesn't offer any such services. So what this community-destroying cost Down is talking about is puzzling us all.

Yes, I already knew that. I'm just confuse cause I've been to other forums too. But they don't require such as this, paying every year. It was like you're paying your taxes in the government and it's your responsibility to do so. But as Vandal said, forumotion is free. I guess we're all puzzled. I just hope he don't close this forum.

If Down is holding the forum hostage, this may be a little more alarming, as Miss suggested. I've actually been thinking that's his intent, because his original post is vague at best. I'm actually reading the OP as a blackmail quite frankly.

I have contacted him via text message telling him to come forth with an answer to this thread. Hopefully, he will oblige.

Is he the owner of this forum? I heard about him and I don't want to be rude but what the hell, seriously? What do you mean by 33.00? It's a dollars each of us? or we need atleast 33 dollars. Why you didn't tell us about this earlier, then you we're just posting a thread saying we need to pay or else the forum is gone, are you forcing us? I don't understand. I thought this is free, and we don't need to pay for this. It was like your threatening us, you mean you need to pay for the domain every year with 33 dollars? Don't tell us if we don't pay back you're just close this forum without telling us here, It's unfair for everyone of us. What is exactly going on around here.

no no no no, Okay listen we need 33 dollars every year to pay for the domain name , and no you can donate anything and that will be more then perfect ... Im currently in college so I have no money for this... Also I did make this forums years back I still love them like the first day its like my little getaway from everything..

By the way, when I asked for a link I meant a link to somewhere where it shows the pricing of paid services.

So the worst that can happen is the domain name changes. The forums won't shut down, it'll just have a different url.

wow you guys are serious I have no reason to lie over 33 dollars... and yeah the URL will change no one wants a long long url ..
